Development of the speech of a one-year-old child

It would seem that just recently you came with your baby from the hospital. But today he celebrates his first birthday. Yesterday he only wanted to eat and that my mother was there.

And today, from a huge number of impressions, this is not enough for him. At the age of one year the child already understands a lot. And most importantly, he wants to tell all this, but does not yet know how. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the speech of a one-year-old child. After all, the faster a child learns to explain to you what he needs, and you understand him, the less he will be capricious. After all, the whims and hysterics of your child are directly related to the fact that he just wants to be heard and understood by the people closest to him.

The development of the speech of a one-year-old child is quite active. It is at this age that a child begins to actively explore the world around him. So, there is a desire to tell everyone about what he learns every day. As a rule, the very first words are directly related to the people who surround it every day. That's why the first thing a child says is a mom or dad. Then there are such words as a woman, uncle, if there are older children in seven, then a nanny. All this occurs at the age of 10 months to one and a half years. Also at this age the child has a very strong desire to imitate others. He actively repeats the facial expressions of people, gestures and, of course, sounds. Especially easy it is given to the sounds that animals say: barking a dog (av-av), mooing a cow (moo-moo), meowing a cat (meow), the child quickly remembers and eagerly repeats, for example, how a machine talks (bi- bi), clock (tick-to-tak).

It is noticed that the first words spoken by the child have a generalized character. But this does not at all resemble the generalization to which we are accustomed, adults. An adult person in order to combine several objects together tries to find in them some specific direction, i.e. for example, what they are intended for. A child simply remembers one definite sign and, in consequence, finding this sign in completely different things, calls them, in a word. For example, yum-yum, for parents this can mean only one, the kid wants to eat. But the child means by this not only the desire to eat, but also the dishes from which he was fed or even an extraneous child, simply because he sees how a strange kid chews a roll.

One of the most common sounds that a kid says at this age is "Y". As a rule, this sound is accompanied by the fact that the kid shows his fingers on some object. Very often parents are angry because of this on the child and try to explain to him that this can not be done. But it's not right. Psychologists believe that the index gesture is not yet a developed form of grasping movement. A child, by virtue of his age, is simply not able to take one or the other thing he wants. And he simply does not know how to explain his desire to his parents. The sound "Y" is a passive dictionary of the child in the development of speech. Those. this means that the baby understands and recognizes this or that subject, but can not say its name. As a rule, if the parents do not try to wean the child from this gesture, but rather try to understand what the child wants to tell them and help them with it, the child's passive vocabulary quickly increases. And this directly leads to the fact that in a short time it may well become active, i.e. instead of "Y" the child will begin to pronounce the words themselves.

An important condition that contributes to the development of the speech of a one-year-old child is the interaction of the baby with adults. Noticing the child's interest in a new toy, things or an object, try to tell him as much as possible about it. If this is a toy, first name it, then tell the child what it is (soft, hard, colored, etc.), what you can do with it, how you can play with it. Be sure to comment on all your actions. Try to do this not only at home, but also on the street. In order for your baby to learn new words faster and better, it is very important that your stories are not just a sound for him. If the kid saw a tree, then be sure to let him touch it. So he will be more interesting and he will remember more quickly that this is a large, rough to the touch plant and is the same tree, about which you told him and showed in the picture. By the way, viewing and discussing pictures also plays an important role in the development of the child's speech. At one-year-old age the baby is already quite capable of comparing different objects and their images. For example, if you saw on the picture the same toy as your baby's, for example, a bear, start comparing this toy with a picture. Well, for example, "Masha has a bear and a picture of a bear. In the picture the bear is white, and Masha is brown. "

It is very important not only to name the items, but also to tell the child what actions can be taken with them. Ask the child to bring the book. With the help of this book you can teach your child various activities. It can show the doll, put it on a shelf, close, open, look through, look at the pictures in it. Often handle simple, elementary requests to the child, not being afraid that he will not understand you. Bring your mug. Take a plate with you, give a spoon to your mother, etc. The kid will be very interested in helping you, and most importantly he will receive his first experience of communication with the world around him.

Another way to develop the speech of the baby is all sorts of nursery rhymes and jokes. Thanks to a clear rhythm and their melody, they help the child to remember and understand new words and actions much quicker.
