First aid kit for emergency care

The tools of the home first-aid kit for emergency care are what should be in the first-aid kit for every adult. These are tools for helping the child in various unpleasant situations. We'll talk about them in our article.

The first aid kit is, of course, not only tools - it also includes the necessary medicines and dressings. It is formed depending on the needs of a particular family, although there are standard emergency aids for all. Why did we start talking about the tools from the first-aid kit for emergency care? Yes, because they are often forgotten about them, many parents do not even know why you need to use this or that tool, so our article will look like a short manual on the use of certain tools.

The first thing we will recall is, of course, scissors . It is advisable to purchase at the chemist's shop medical special scissors, made of stainless steel. These scissors have a straight shape, one end is slightly rounded, the second - sharp. However, if you do not have such scissors - put any others - for example, clerical ones. Keep track of the size of the rings, do not take too small - they should fit not only the elegant fingers of the mother, but also the thumbs of the dad.

Application: this emergency aid will be needed for you when you need to cut dressings in order to put a bandage on a wounded place. Also, scissors will be just needed when you need to remove clothes from the victim, and do it without their application will not work (this is necessary, in particular, with certain types of injuries and burns).

The next tool that should be replenished with a home medicine chest is tweezers . It is better if the tweezers are made of metal, and the surface of it is ribbed (not to slip in the hand). No extra denticles, bulges - these are exactly the tweezers sold in pharmacies. But if that is the case, mom's tweezers will do the same.

Application: using tweezers, you remove the foreign body that is stuck on the wound surface; pull out a splinter or fish hook; You will get a bone of fish stuck in the larynx; remove the tick from the skin.

Further - an English pin , which is needed in order to securely fix and fasten the two edges of the dressing material. In the home medicine cabinet for emergency care should be pins of different sizes - it is not known, the place will be somewhat extensive, and what will be the dressings themselves. Somewhere you need a smaller pin, somewhere - more.

Disposable syringes are very useful tools for helping in some situations. It is better to stock up several syringes with different capacities (from 2 to 10 ml), to them should be attached and different size of the needle. All this is stored in a sterile package.

Application: small syringes (2 and 5 ml) with a needle can be used for intramuscular injection, but only when one of the adults knows how to do it. In some cases, even the life of a child depends on such an injection (for example, with the bites of poisonous insects). If you remove the needle from a small syringe - you will get a tool to instill solutions into the nose, eyes or ears. A larger syringe without a needle is useful in order to measure the right dose of a medicine (for example, a syrup or solution) and dig it into your mouth. The largest syringes without a needle will help you when washing the wounds or eyes. The needle, as an independent tool, will help to remove the splinter, if you do not have tweezers at hand.

Disposable latex gloves are a very important tool. If you are helping someone with blood wounds, these gloves will protect you from blood poisoning. They are also useful from the opposite side - the wound of the patient does not get dirt from the hands of the person who heals it. You can store the ampute temporarily in the glove.

It is best to put a couple of pairs of gloves, different in size, in the first aid kit - after all, it is not known how many hands will be needed to save the child in this or that situation.

Liquid soap should also be in your medicine chest, with it, even in the field you can prepare a soap solution, which is so necessary for the most effective treatment and disinfection of the wound.

Next we would like to note the coolant . Although it can not be said that this is the tool that should be located directly in the medicine cabinet. Usually the coolant should be in a thermos-bag to save its main value - cold. What it is? A small container of plastic that is filled with water. The coolant should always be stored in the freezer, and get out of there only when you go on a hike.

Application: if the child has a bruise, sprains, a dislocation of any joint, fracture of the bone, if there was a compression of the tissues for a long period, if a traumatic amputation was performed, with an eye or abdominal injury, nosebleed, warm and sunny strokes, allergic reaction, insect bites or arachnid, the cold cell will be simply necessary for you to provide emergency care.

The last tool for first aid is a cooling bag. In principle, we can say that if there is a cold cell, then such a package is not needed. However, there is one significant "but" here. The cooling bag is able to maintain its properties for a longer time. This is due to the fact that the package for cooling is filled with special chemicals that combine with each other and react with the body, absorbing its heat and releasing the necessary cold.

Application: the cooling package will be indispensable in case of bruising, sprains, fractures and dislocations, with the compression of tissues and amputation after trauma, with a trauma of the abdomen or eye, nosebleeds and shocks - sunny and warm, with allergic reaction or bite of a poisonous spider, insect.

Of course, the home medicine chest, as well as the first aid kit, should not consist exclusively of tools for first aid. There is a list of the most important medicines, materials for bandaging, which should take pride of place in any medicine cabinet - but we will talk about them in our next articles.
