Folk treatment of atopic dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis, also known as neurodermatitis or diathesis is a chronic, often hereditary disease. At different ages, dermatitis can manifest itself in different ways, but skin rashes and frequent exacerbations are most typical for it. Most often diathesis is observed in children. Unfortunately, the treatment of dermatitis is rather difficult. First of all, it, of course, assumes a special diet, but no less effective is the folk treatment of atopic dermatitis, which quickly eliminates symptoms and significantly improves the patient's condition.

The probability of atopic dermatitis in a child increases if his parents have ever been diagnosed with this disease. Nevertheless, there is a 15-20% risk of developing dermatitis in a child, even if there is no hereditary predisposition. It turns out that no one is immune from this ailment. It is aggravated by the fact that the state of the environment can contribute to the development of dermatitis. It is no coincidence that atopic dermatitis is the most frequently diagnosed skin disease in both children and adults, with the number of cases only increasing every year.

A characteristic symptomatology of dermatitis is the appearance of red inflamed spots on the skin with a distinct border. Such spots can peel off, get wet and itch. Inflamed areas can appear almost anywhere: on flat parts of the skin, on the folds of the joints, in the inguinal folds or axillary hollows.

Traditional methods of treatment.

People's treatment of this disease is quite diverse and is represented by a set of recipes that can quickly help the patient.

Baths.

The most unpleasant symptom of dermatitis is itchy skin, and therefore folk remedies are called upon to eliminate it before others. The most effective are baths containing special additives:

- a bath containing brew infusion on the birch buds. Preparation of the infusion does not take much energy: it is enough to throw one tablespoon of birch buds in warmed boiling water with a thermos bottle and pour boiling water. Infusion will be ready in two or three hours, then it must be filtered and added to a bath, prepared for bathing;

- a bath with the addition of starch. For a liter of hot water, dilute two tablespoons of starch. And that's all! The mixture can be added to water;

- a bath with herbal decoction. You will need the following herbs: a yarrow, a nettle, a burdock root, a root of a three-colored violet. To make a decoction, take 150 grams of any of these herbs and pour a liter of boiling water. Let's brew and add to the bath. After bathing, do not forget to lubricate the skin with a fat cream.

The optimum water temperature in the bathroom is 34-36 degrees. Also, do not use herbs that dry the skin: chamomile, string, celandine - they will give the opposite effect, whereas the skin needs moisturizing and soothing.

Diet.

The patient should make such a diet to completely exclude from the diet products containing allergens. Such products include citrus fruits, eggs, nuts, cocoa, fish, legumes, tomatoes, chocolate, strawberries, sauerkraut, spinach, cheese, honey, cow milk, liver, bananas, grapes. But do not be in a hurry to get upset, because, despite the fact that this list includes the most allergenic products, it is not necessarily that they are allergic to you. You will be able to make an ideal diet for yourself, observing the reaction of your body to the use of a particular food.

It is necessary to know that exacerbation of dermatitis can be associated with seasonal phenomena: flower pollen or stone fruit and berries.

Tap water.

But one diet is not enough to combat atopic dermatitis. It must also be remembered that ordinary tap water contains a lot of chlorine, which means that it needs to be defended for several hours before water procedures. Cool baths with filtered water are ideal for irritated, inflamed skin.

Daily shower, give it at least 15-20 minutes a day, but the use of cosmetics is desirable to reduce and apply not more than twice a week. It is necessary to choose the pH neutral means for the bath, since they contribute to the normalization of the balance of the skin. When washing, to avoid additional damage to the skin, it is not recommended to use sponges. At the conclusion of water procedures, the skin is gently soaked with a towel. It will not be superfluous to use after the bath a baby oil or a special lotion.

Clothing.

It is most preferable to choose clothes from cotton, while avoiding coarse fabrics, such as wool. Of course, you can wear a wool sweater if you put a cotton t-shirt under it. Hypoallergenic powders for washing clothes are also recommended for patients with dermatitis.

House.

People with atopic dermatitis should get rid of fluffy floor coverings, so they collect a large amount of dust. Cleaning should be done as often as possible, while using a water vacuum cleaner is better. Pillows and other bedding should not be feathery or feathery, it is better to use synthetic materials such as silicone or sintepon. To destroy dust mites, it is necessary to wash bed linens at temperatures above 60 degrees.

UV rays.

The skin should preferably be protected from sunlight, which is especially important for rest. For this, there are special sunscreens with a high level of UV protection.

Such, at first glance, radical comprehensive measures are in fact very simple and help a patient with atopic dermatitis get rid of itching, flaking and permanent taking of medicines.
