Chebrets is a perennial bush, the family of the Gubotians, which grows in Central Russia, the Caucasus, southern Ukraine and partly in the Urals, Kazakhstan and Siberia. On the territory of Russia also has the names "thyme", "thyme", "Bogorodskaya grass", "motherboard", "thyme creeping", and Ukrainians call thyme "thyme boroviy" and "small mother". The plant up to 35 centimeters high has a stubble tree root and branching stems spread along the soil, covered with hairs, which can be bent downward or upright.
