How to properly feed the baby after a year?

Oh, these children ... Then they rush with semolina porridge or do not want to eat before a walk, then with a cry they ask to buy them some poison ... Why is this happening and how to still teach the baby to a proper and healthy diet? How to properly feed a child after a year is the topic of discussion for today.

Are there any rules how to feed the baby?

There are some recommendations that relate mainly to feeding a child under the age of two, when he does not yet know how to eat independently. For example:

1. Do not forbid the baby to take food with his hands - this is his way of exploring the world (then he will learn how to eat as an adult);

2. Feed the crumbs with the speed with which he is ready to eat (usually the kid himself watches the spoon and opens his mouth when everything is already chewed), in no case do not rush it;

3. Do not try to persuade the baby to eat everything that is lying on his plate (let him eat as much as he can);

4. If the child is busy playing, do not drive him to the table violently, just say that it's time to dine, and give time to finish the game.

Is it true that there is a need at the table?

A child after a year is usually not enough standard meals like breakfast, lunch and dinner. Therefore, food can be divided into a stationary, which the child is eating at the table, and the auxiliary, when you can just snack something light. Since between the meals a baby is in a state of play, then to him (if this is not a walk) it is advisable to organize a "feed", consisting of a set of useful and easy-to-use products. Lay on small unbreakable plates small biscuits, cubes of hard cheese, apple slices, nuts and other products that do not stain your hands, let the baby come up to them and eat as much as he wants.

How to cause the child's interest in food?

In a small child, the skills of chewing and swallowing are not yet developed enough, so some types of food (for example, meat) should be chopped as much as possible. However, if he receives only the eaten food, then these skills will not develop. Our task is to "feed" the child with both kinds of food, and even so that he himself ate with pleasure. There are several small tricks with which you can provoke a child's interest in food.

1. It is interesting for children to dip slices of food into something liquid, so you can offer them pieces of vegetables or small cutlets, and they should be served with nutritious sauces.

2. Children like to smear food on something hard, so you can prepare for them various pastes (for example, from meat with vegetables, from cottage cheese with fruit, etc.) and serve them with small pieces of bread.

3. Children love to drink something through a straw: prepare for them cocktails of berries and fruits mixed in a mixer with yoghurt.

What if he refuses to eat?

The main rule: to feed the child it is necessary only when he is hungry. If the child is hungry, he definitely will not refuse to eat. Appetite will appear after an active walk. If the child does not want to eat, he does not need to be forced or persuaded by various tricks. Even in such a common way, as a dinner "for cartoons", you should not get involved: you teach the child to eat by inertia, not paying attention to the body's signals about saturation. In the future, he will not be able to control his eating behavior and will overeat. If the child, as they say, "zaelsya", there is one good way to return his interest in food: attract the baby to cooking some simple dishes - he wants his own cutlets or salad.

Why does he eat badly?

Usually this situation has explanatory reasons. And it could be how the food system is organized. Sometimes children eat reluctantly because they have a too monotonous menu: the set of dishes that you offer him for a week is not big enough. If you diversify the menu even with the help of small things (pieces of fruit in cereal, green onions to soup, etc.), perhaps the child will become a more active consumer.

Some parents are in the grip of a peculiar sense of guilt. They have learned from childhood the formula: a good mother should always be fed by a good mother. And on how properly the baby feeds after a year mom, depends primarily on her peace of mind. If she did not insist on this - then it is "bad". This setting leads to the fact that the child has negative emotions attached to food.

What if the child is eating out?

In this case, you need to monitor the food that the child receives during the day so that at dinner he can "get" the necessary products. In kindergarten, usually hang out the menu for the whole day, read it when you bring the child to the kindergarten. If the child is attending some other institution (studio, special school), give him some useful food with him: pieces of cheese, fruit, nuts, etc.

Dishes that should not be taken a great interest

There are a number of products that should not be given to children more than once a week. Excessive consumption of such dishes can harm a growing organism:

♦ fat meat and fish (pork and lamb, goose and duck, salmon),

♦ salinity and smoked meat,

♦ cream and fatty sour cream,

♦ condiments (mustard, horseradish)

♦ allergenic delicacies (caviar, crabs, smoked fish).

Products that are worth giving up completely

These products are called "food garbage" by nutritionists - parents should make every effort to exclude them from the children's diet:

♦ chips and croutons,

♦ instant noodles,

♦ donuts,

♦ fast-food (hot dogs, hamburgers),

♦ French fries.
