It is worth to go to the toy store and immediately embraces the most forgotten feeling of children's joy, as in childhood. I always like to watch confused moms and dads running around in search of that long-awaited surprise. Shelves are bursting with an abundance of all kinds of dolls, cars, robots, but you would like something different, and then you notice the showcase of soft toys. White teddy bear, that's the same miracle that you liked. But they begin to torment their doubts as soon as you imagine what will happen to the bear in a couple of days after his acquaintance with your child. He gets - a gray color and immediately disappears any desire to buy it. After all, not everyone knows how to wash soft toys.
Therefore, in my article I want to give some tips on cleaning soft toys. Any pediatrician will tell you that it is necessary to clean up at least once every two weeks to prevent a number of diseases, but the parents do it as they get dirty. First of all, caring for them depends on the material from which they are made. This can be velor, plush or artificial fur, each of which requires an individual approach. On each toy, if, of course, you have acquired a good, high-quality, there must be a tag on which there are brief recommendations for washing and ways of leaving.
Here are a few of them:
- Machine washing is possible if this is indicated on the marking itself. Wash is necessary in a delicate mode, the temperature of which should not exceed 30 degrees, it is better with the addition of baby powder. Pre-toys can be put in a special mesh for washing, and after the main wash it is desirable to rinse several times. If you notice that the toy is shedding, then it is better not to give it to the child at all, it is likely that a poor-quality dye, and especially try to erase soft "gizmos". It is very important to dry properly, in most cases the toys have a dense structure, and if not enough to dry, mold can form inside, so they should always be in a suspended state so that water can flow freely.
- Caring for musical toys with mechanisms inside is hand washing, otherwise water can get inside, and you will spoil your child's favorite. Wash toys like this better in the following way, dissolve a small amount of shampoo in warm water, or some other detergent detergent. Do not whip foam until bubbles, and carefully using the sponge, clean only the top of the toy, trying not to get the filler itself wet. Often caress the sponge itself and squeeze well, otherwise just smudge the dirt. After all the activities, take care to dry, just do not put on the battery, you can burn the toy, the child thank you for it will not say.
- Dry cleaning methods for some do not inspire confidence, considering them ineffective, but this opinion is incorrect. In a large plastic bag we put 2-3 toys of medium size and pour there a quarter of a glass of soda, based on each toy. Tightly tied the package, turn on the fifth speed and shake for a few minutes, then take it out and brush it, but I usually use a vacuum cleaner, soda removes all the dirt, instead of soda, you can also use starch.
- Soft toys accumulate dust, respectively, where there is dust, there will be mites that cause allergic reactions in our children. Prevention of their appearance is the regular process of using a vacuum cleaner with a special brush. There is another way to kill ticks. To do this, you need to put the toy in the freezer for several hours, pre-packed in a bag. If the window is winter, just put it on the street, let it freeze. Under the influence of low temperatures mites die, so our teddy be cured and get a fresh look and now does not cause any danger to children.
Dry cleaning.
The most extreme option for care will be dry cleaning. There are two options: wet - it uses the same detergents as we are at home, and dry - where solvents are used. The second is strictly forbidden, if your child is not yet 5 years old. The point is, in this treatment, chlorine ethylene is used, even sometimes gasoline and hydrocarbon, because of such cleaning, the toy can evaporate harmful chemical compounds that cause allergy in children for another couple of months. So, if there is no possibility of cleaning at home, then resort to the first option, in order to cleanly and surely wash toys. It is more secure.
