How to wean the cat in the house

Many cats love to mark the territory. While the kittens do not reach sexual maturity, the owners do not have problems with this their inclination, but already at the age of 7-8 months, the kittens begin to leave their marks everywhere. It is not necessary that your pet will mark the territory, because not all cats do it. However, it is better to know in advance how to wean the cat in the house.

You can not leave everything as it is, because cat tags have a strong unpleasant smell and it's not so easy to get them out. As a rule, the owners are trying to wash the tags, and cats are scolded for such disagreeable behavior. But this is a wrong and useless approach. The cat in that case will not cease to mark in the house. To disaccustom him from this habit, one must first understand the reasons for this behavior of the animal.

It should be remembered that the cat marks the territory not with the aim of taking revenge on the vammam for something or anger. In the understanding of cats is a way of denoting your territory, encroachment on which other cats your pet is ready to stop a fight.

Just like in dogs, although to a lesser extent, the family hierarchy is developed in cats. So, not all cats can mark a territory, but only "main ones". And although the young kittens can try to argue with the "main" cat, leaving their marks everywhere, he quickly calms down outbursts of such rebellious behavior.

Therefore, the owner's task, however strange or funny it may sound, is to become the "main" cat for your pet, so that the animal abandons the habit of leaving marks.

Punishing a cat with batting slippers and poking his face into the marks, you will not achieve anything. Feeling his scent, the pet will think that it should be and continue to leave marks. What is the way out of the situation?

As soon as you notice that the cat has lifted its tail and, slightly twitching it, goes to the wall or door, start to act actively so that the cat could understand this. What will be clear to him? The cat can understand only the habits, gestures and sounds peculiar to him in communicating with other cats, namely the imitation of a cat fight.

To start, the cat should be taken by the scruff. It is best to do this with one hand, but if the animal resists, you can get an assistant. When the cat calms down and presses the tail to the stomach (will take the so-called kitten's pose), consider that you have achieved the desired effect.

Now your goal is to "defeat" the cat in a fight, using all the acting skills that you are capable of.

Reception number 1: Simulate the hiss of a cat. To do this, the sounds "sh", "f" and "x" should be continuously pronounced in the most threatening voice.

Reception number 2: Try to learn a cat strike. With one finger, without applying force, you need to simulate the cat's paws on the opponent's face.

Reception number 3: All the actions you must do, really angered at the animal. Cats very well feel the emotional state of a person (even by its smell). If you become angry, you call the pet to yourself with a kindly voice, he will feel a dirty trick and become shy of you. Therefore, in this case, if the cat feels a falsehood and understands that there is no anger in your actions, he will decide that you are playing with him, and all your attempts will not bring the proper result.

Reception number 4: Another very important point: you need to look cat in the eye. For animals, a look in the eyes is a challenge and whoever looks away first is considered a loser. Because, as a rule, cats do not pursue the opponents turned away from them.

So, you should start to hiss, lightly beat the cat on the face with your fingers and look into his eyes. Most likely, the pet will not resist, but even if it does, continue acting.

After a while, the cat will close its eyes or turn away. As soon as he takes a look and starts mewing, you can think that you won.

Now you have the right to mark the territory! It is necessary to wash all the cat marks and sprinkle sponges or cologne in these places, thus leaving your smell.

If the cat does not stop trying to leave marks, repeat all of the above actions several more times.

After this procedure, cats begin to respect the owner, considering him the leader. This method will also help to wean the cat to bite your hands and sizzle at you while eating.
