Is fresh juice useful?

Quite often in the society there is a fashion for this or that food product. This process has its dynamics of development, which, reaching its peak, gradually decreases and begins to come to naught.

This process can often be accelerated due to the "debunking" and negative evaluation of certain products and the detection in them of harmful properties and qualities. A very vivid example of this is the "cult" of freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices.

Of course, many people always used fruit and vegetable juices, but the spread and fashion for this product in our country began with the first books of a propagandist and activist for a healthy lifestyle of Paul Bragg. Fighter for health, Paul Bragg in his works advised to eat more food of vegetable origin, drink freshly squeezed juice, actively move and periodically starve. It would seem that these tips are very good, and some particularly fanatical followers of Bragg's ideas have gone to extremes, because the excesses in the use of freshly squeezed juices can be very harmful. Since that time, fans of a healthy lifestyle began to wonder, - "Freshly squeezed juice - is it useful? ".

In order to find out, you need to know how it works on the human body. Almost all freshly squeezed juices contain biologically active substances (BAA), which are immediately absorbed in the gastrointestinal system and participate in biological and biochemical processes, or rather in the process of metabolism. As we know, metabolism is the process of transforming the products entering our body into elements, from which the cells of the human body are built. It should be noted that freshly squeezed juices are very active in these processes. In the overwhelming majority it has a very beneficial effect on the body, but as you know, the golden mean is important in everything, and the consumption of juices in gallons and liters is not so useful, even if not harmful.

Depending on the variety of juice, it can contain certain mineral substances (most in vegetable) and vitamins (more in fruit juices). Both minerals and vitamins are very useful, but as it turned out, freshly squeezed juices contain, in addition, less useful substances, which sometimes have unpredictable effects on the body. It is because of them that the benefits of freshly squeezed juice are in question. Because, it should be remembered that a person in our time has to take a variety of medications and the effect of drug interactions with these most unpredictable substances is being clarified. And yet, how is the interaction in our bodies of these substances?

To date, scientists have accurately proven the fact that grapefruit juice in its composition contains a substance called "naringin", which can reduce or, on the contrary, increase the activity of some medicinal preparations. This effect occurs due to the fact that naringin stops certain enzymes of decomposing drugs in the liver for a certain time, after which their amount in the body increases significantly, which can lead to poisoning. At the same time, destroying these enzymes, naringin lowers the effect of certain drugs. However, the paradox lies in the fact that in itself "naringin" is very useful for the body. Also today, a similar effect is observed in a number of other juices and this research does not stop there.

Another drawback for lovers of freshly squeezed juice: it is not a fact that the fruits and vegetables from which you make juices are environmentally friendly, without the addition of foreign chemicals. But in our time it is difficult to know for sure, although you can console yourself that most of the chemistry remains in the cellulose. However, in the juice of cellulose is not enough, so you should not abuse them.

Is fresh juice useful and can it be consumed? Of course, you can. Going wisely to the process and weighing the specific pros and cons. It is also recommended to consult a doctor, especially during the period of taking certain medications.

It is necessary to prepare the juice immediately before its consumption, since already after a few minutes of idling the biologically active substances begin to break down. An exception may be, perhaps, beet juice, because exactly it needs to be held in the refrigerator for at least two hours in advance, in order for the harmful substances to decompose.

To consume freshly squeezed juice is recommended half an hour before a meal, then the juice will be most useful, because it will very quickly suck in an empty stomach and instantly enter the biochemical process.

It is also not advisable to drink fruit juices after eating, because when mixed with food, it causes a significant release of gases in the body.

Drink freshly squeezed juice better through the tube, after which you should rinse the oral cavity with water. In juices a significant amount of organic acids, which adversely affect the hard tissue of the teeth. It is because of this that dentists advise brushing your teeth after consuming freshly squeezed juices.

Vegetable juices should not be drunk in large quantities, but rather diluted with fruit. For example, a combination of apple and carrot, carrot and beet, etc., while vegetable juice should not be more than a third of the total volume. Speaking about beetroot, then it should be used gradually, starting with a small amount, diluted with water, because some people do not tolerate raw beet juice.

Fruit juices made from stone fruit (plum, apricot, peach, cherry), should not be mixed with other juices. Juices, made from fruits, in which there are seeds (grapes, apple, currant) is well mixed with other types of juices. Apple juice is especially well combined with vegetable juices - carrot, cabbage, beetroot.
