Jamala will represent Ukraine at Eurovision-2016 with a song about Crimea

In Ukraine the qualifying round "Eurovision 2016" finished, according to which the country in Stockholm will be represented by the singer Susanna Dzhamaladinova, acting under the pseudonym of Jamala.

The performer will appear in the popular contest with the song "1944". The song is dedicated to the history of the Crimean Tatars, deported from the peninsula after its liberation from the fascists.

After Jamala sang the song during the final, she said that she was dedicating it to her homeland - the Crimea. In one of the interviews Susanna told that this song was written under the impression of the story of her great-grandmother, who witnessed the events in Crimea in 1944.

The latest news about the selection of the participant for the Eurovision Song Contest has caused a lot of controversy on the Internet. The theme of the Crimea, after its return to Russia, remains provocative enough. Therefore, the song of the Ukrainian artist, telling about the tragic events that occurred many years ago in the Crimea, reacted with caution.

So, Internet users believe that Ukraine can be disqualified if the organizers of the contest see a political provocation or campaigning components in the song. In the Internet, a stormy discussion of the reasons for the deportation of the Crimean Tatars with an indispensable transition to the holistic topics of Stalin, the USSR, provocations, Maidan and the like is in full swing.
