Marriage period in the feline

Remember what feelings you felt when a soft fluffy lump appeared in your house, which always demanded attention and affection and, receiving the desired, happily purred in response. The time has passed and here before us is no longer a small kitten, and not even a teenager, but a fully formed adult animal, which brings us no less pleasure than before.

But a month or two passes and you realize that a pet or a lover has aroused the instinct of reproduction. All would be nothing, but how would you nistaralsya, to persuade to suffer, Murka or Barsik respond with increased aggressiveness, tag everything that gets in the apartment, starting from distant corners and finishing with shoes that came to visit mother-in-law. After a very short time, all neighbors know firsthand about your problem, because they get it: an unpleasant smell begins to break out of the apartment, and screaming furiously at night, everyone wakes up in the district.

There are problems with the owners of cats: their appetite is diminishing in appetite, it rolls up concerts that can last from a few days to a week, and sometimes even more. In addition, Murka in an attempt to call on the non-existent chevalier performs all sorts of gymnastic somersaults.

Such changes that have occurred in the pet's body, it is impossible not to notice, let alone ignore. But how can it be possible to solve the problem with little blood?

The simplest solution is a complete ignore

The simplest thing is not to do anything in the current situation, hoping that everything will dissolve by itself. But the owners of animals that have taken this decision, it is worth knowing that changes in the behavior of the pet - this is only a small part of the problems that are available. More serious is the hormonal stress that arises in the body due to the fact that the animal can not begin to fulfill its basic mission on earth, namely, the continuation of the cat's city. Remember that the more such stresses your pet is experiencing, the more the bouquet of problems that may arise in the future. It's about the fact that hormonal imbalance contributes to the development of various diseases of the genital sphere, and also shortens the life of the cat or cat.

As you can see, if your fluffy happiness is dear to you, simply sit with folded arms, in this situation it is impossible.

Hormonal preparations

The next solution to the problem can be using a pill, injections and special drops that can dull the instinct of reproduction. Applying these drugs, it is easy to achieve that the "concert" period in the animal will be significantly reduced and will last up to 2-3 days.

But these medications have one, but a significant disadvantage: they include horse doses of hormones. Of course, if you give the medicine to an animal only occasionally, there is nothing to be afraid of, but here the systematic intake of hormonal preparations will not lead to anything good, and the risk of malignant tumors and diseases of the genitourinary system increases manyfold in the pet. In addition, both in cats and in cats, whose owners abuse hormonal means, the duration of life is significantly shortened. Think well, are you ready for your peace of mind to pay for life in anything innocent pet?

Allow pets to solve problems themselves

You thought and decided to allow your cat or cat to multiply. Excellent, now no hormonal changes they are not terrible. If your pet has documents of compliance with his breed, breeding kittens can even make good money. And here is what to do for those who live in the house, loved by all family members, but not belonging to any breed?

Here, the advantages on the side of the owners of cats, which can allow their animals to freely search for the love of domestic kitties constantly come back.

But the owners of cats must take care in advance about where they will attach the fluffy offspring of their Murka. Naturally, we will not consider a cruel version, in which newborn kittens will be deprived of life.

So, the first litter is successfully built into the good hands of friends and acquaintances, but what to do with the following broods is already a serious question. Of course, throwing down the fuzzy people on the street will not raise the hand and will have to leave the whole family to themselves. And now imagine that a year will pass and all grown-ups will want to satisfy their own reproductive instinct. What will you do then ?!

To cut or not to cut - that is the question

The most radical solution to the problem of prolonging the genus of peritoneals is surgical intervention, namely castration and sterilization. During the operation, the doctor removes the sex glands that release the hormones in the organism and are responsible for the instinct of reproduction. Of course, like any operative interference, castration and sterilization have their advantages and disadvantages, but if you still decided that breeding cats is not your calling, it is worthwhile to listen to the advice of veterinarians and decide on an operation.

The main argument in favor of intervention is that animals who are not concerned with the problem of reproduction feel much better, they have no hormonal outbursts, mood swings, they become more tolerant and affectionate. In addition, their life is prolonged and the risk of developing various diseases decreases.

How is surgery performed?

Many animal owners are afraid that their pet will not survive anesthesia and surgery. But it is only to be feared when the cat or cat's body is weakened, the pet has a sick heart or a solid age. In all other cases, all manipulations do not pose a threat to life and are conducted without any problems.

The animal receives an anesthetic in the form of an injection, after which it falls and does not feel any pain. Next, the nurse completely removes the wool from the place where later there will be stitches, and also processing the field of surgery with an antiseptic.

Only after this, the doctor uses a sterile scalpel to cut the cat's scrotum and the shells in which the testes are located, binds the semenic cord along with the vessels and nerves surrounding it. After this, the testicle is removed and stitches are applied to the wound. Note that no suturing of the postoperative wound is unnecessary, and the incision itself is negligible: only 0.5 centimeters. After both testicles are removed and the wounds are sewn, the doctor once again processes the wound surface and the skin around it with antiseptics. Note that the time of the operation lasts no more than 5-7 minutes.

If we talk about sterilization of cats, then there are two kinds of operations: ovariohysterectomy and ovariectomy. In the first case, the doctor lays the uterus and ovaries of the animal, in the second case, only the ovaries. Note that the surgery is cavitary, but the best results are achieved with complete removal of the genitals, that is, in the first case.

The doctor, after he has chosen the type of operation with the owner, makes anesthesia, processes the operating surface and proceeds with the operation, which lasts about 30 minutes.

After the end of all manipulations, a special bandage will be put on the cat and the animal will be handed over to the owner.

Rehabilitation period

Regardless of how the operation was carried out, the pet is in need of rehabilitation. Watch carefully that the animal uses a sufficient amount of water. But the refusal of food or a significant decrease in appetite in the first few days is quite normal.

The next thing you need to pay attention to is limiting the pet's mobility - try to make sure that the cat does not make sudden movements, for example, do not jump to a chair.

At least a couple of times a day, you should inspect the seams, if necessary, treat them with an antiseptic and make sure that they dry well. If no complications arise, in 10-12 days the veterinarian will remove and allow to move without restrictions.

Above we described the care of a cat who underwent the sterilization operation. As for cats, they are restored much faster, and seams are not required.

After the animal has departed from the operation, it can be gradually transferred to the food for castrated cats - this food will help prevent the development of obesity. Note that this problem arises from a decrease in the level of metabolism in the body, in which the appetite remains unchanged.

As you can see, if you approach the issue with all seriousness, you will be able to make the right decision that will help to save the health of your pet. And my favorite Murka or Barsik know how to thank you for your care.
