It is also advisable not to take alcohol. Alcohol affects the venous system, which in turn, if not properly functioning, is involved in the manifestations of restless legs syndrome. In addition, it has been proven that alcohol consumption by people with restless legs syndrome is the reason that its symptoms are markedly worse.

The same happens when smoking, when to "calm" the dependence - this is the sad irony, the person is drawn into it. However, scientific research has proved that the restless legs syndrome has disappeared in some women who quit smoking. Therefore, if you suffer from this disorder and still smoke, now you have another good reason to give up tobacco.

Hypoglycemia: a factor to consider

Various scientific studies have confirmed that people suffering from hypoglycemia (that is, lowering the blood sugar level, which occurs 1-2 hours after eating) are often prone to restless legs syndrome. If this is your case (consult a doctor so that he takes the appropriate tests from you), some changes in the diet can alleviate or even eliminate the symptoms of restless legs syndrome.

Exclude from the diet sugar, coffee, alcohol and refined flour.

Eat more proteins, cereals, dried fruits, vegetables and fish.
