Ozone treatment, term ozone therapy

Ozone therapy is a new non-traditional method of treating various diseases, especially in cases where traditional methods are powerless. The effect of ozone is amazing - a positive effect is observed immediately after the first session. With proper procedure, the results are almost always positive, although contraindications also exist. So, ozone treatment: the term ozone therapy is the topic of discussion for today.

Why ozone?

• Ozone has antibacterial properties (the strongest of all known and used bactericidal protective equipment), performs virucidal and fungicidal function.
• Improves tissue oxygenation, that is, oxygen saturation. This is especially useful for prolonged hypoxia and poor blood saturation with oxygen.
• Ozone suppresses tissue inflammation.
• When used in high concentrations (3000-4000 mg) - works as an immunosuppressive therapy.
• When used in low concentrations (300-400 mg) - increases the resistance of both local and general body systems.

When is ozonotherapy required?

List of diseases in which treatment with ozone has a positive effect:
• Infectious diseases of the skin,
• Ulcers on the legs and arms,
• For bedridden patients - wounds and bedsores,
• Diabetic Foot Syndrome
• Eczema,
• Disturbances of the blood supply to the extremities,
• Abscesses and boils,
• Acne
• Non-healing and infected wounds,
• Burns and bedsores,
• Skin infections and fistulas in the bones,
• Gas gangrene,
• Inflammation of the large intestine,
• Ulcerative colitis
• Intestinal fistulas, as well as the pancreas and bile ducts
• Inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract
• Multiple sclerosis
• Osteoporosis
• Osteoarthritis

Types and methods of ozone treatment

Depending on the conditions and individual characteristics of the body, ozone can be used in gaseous form, as well as in the form of an oxygen-ozone mixture. When applied to the skin, ozone in liquid form, dissolved in physiological solution or distilled water, is most often used. If you want to receive ozone in the body cavity - it is administered enterally, intravenously. So the substance quickly spreads through the body with blood and saturates the tissues and organs. In order to achieve quick and better results, various therapies can be combined.

Ozone therapy in the treatment of wounds

Ozone Sprays on the wound in the form of gas or liquid under pressure. This allows for rapid and safe mechanical surgical treatment of the wound and good penetration of ozone into the tissue. With local action, the effectiveness of ozone is most significant. During this procedure, a small redness develops on the skin around the wound, which is the result of local tissue hyperemia, and soon disappears. This is due to blanching of ischemic tissues, which reflects their process of ozone oxidation. Under the influence of ozone, necrotic (dead) tissues are separated faster than under the influence of traditional methods of treating wounds. Wounds treated with ozone show a remarkable tendency to form a granulation of the skin and quickly heal. After 7 ozone treatments, surgical treatment of the wound without signs of infection is usually achieved and wound healing is accelerated. Ozonation is carried out every second day and the duration of one session is 30 minutes. For the treatment of difficult and chronic wounds and pressure sores, it is better to use ozone baths, together with infusions of liquid with saline solution intravenously. In cases where the wound is difficult to heal and constantly fester, the oxygen-ozone mixture can be applied topically, intravenously and intramuscularly.

Ozonotherapy in the treatment of multiple sclerosis

Clinical studies confirm the positive effect of ozone on the cure of multiple sclerosis, both in its main progressive and recurrent-outgoing form. Therapy in this case is carried out intravenously, the patient is injected with saline solution with ozone.

Ozonotherapy for diabetic foot syndrome

As many as 70,000 outpatients with diabetes mellitus are at risk of amputation due to foot necrosis. Ozone, timely and correctly applied, can prevent the development of necrosis of bones to prevent infection and significantly limit the scope of amputation. When ozonotherapy is used in the early stages of the disease, amputation can generally be abused.

Ozonotherapy for inflammation of bones

In chronic inflammation of bone tissue, the best results are obtained by combining local remedies - a mixture of oxygen and ozone. The substance is injected directly into previously purified fistulas and abscesses - by intravenous ozone therapy.

High ozone efficiency, among other things, is proven in bone inflammations caused by anaerobic bacteria, for example, after the replacement of large joints. Treatment in these cases is complicated by the irritating effect of the implant and bone cement components. In patients with inflammation, which leads to the formation of abscesses and fistulas, ozone therapy can be combined with pharmacological treatment. For example, with the use of antibiotics or surgical intervention.

Already more and more clinics are adopting the ozone treatment method - the term ozone therapy is promised a great future. This method is used in patients of almost any age, sex and physical condition. It is shown even to pregnant women. Although the ozone therapy method is still considered unconventional, its effectiveness is not disputed even by qualified specialists.
