Positions for breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is an unforgettable process. How nice to look at a child eating, look at his eyes, listen to a smack and a quiet snoring under the influence of a dream come. Every mother in the maternity home is carefully informed about breastfeeding, about the usefulness of breast milk. Also there they teach how correctly the child should take the breast. But as practice shows, not always everything is obtained from the first minutes. Sometimes, because of the peculiarity of the structure of the mother's breast, the baby can not take it into her mouth in any way. There are different poses for breastfeeding, which not only help to put the baby right to the chest, but also will give comfort, both to the kid, and to the mother.

Most used poses

Lying on Mom's arm.

This position is very good for night feeding, since there is no risk to pinch the baby with your body. With such a pose, the head of the mother is on the pillow, and the shoulders are on the bed. Putting the child on one hand, and hugging him, the other help to take the chest and ... rest.

Cradle.

The most standard and well-known from the antiquity posture, when the child lies with the mother in her arms. At the same time, he turns in a half-arm, so that the baby's tummy is pressed against the mother, and the mouth is at the level of the nipple. Since the mother at this position is sitting, and the child is still difficult to hold on your hands, you can put 1-2 pillows under the crumbs. Similarly, you can feed the baby in the chair.

Feeding the "upper" chest.

Mom lies on the bed, leaning, for example, on the arm. Kid on his side side by side, or on the pillow, so it was much more comfortable to suck. The essence of the posture is that the feeding comes from the "adjacent" breast. So, if the mother lies on her right side, she feeds her left breast, and vice versa. From personal experience I can say that this pose is suitable for a breast full of milk, but one must be cautious, because with such feeding milk flows very quickly.

Cradle No.2

In this position it is very convenient to put the baby near the breast and to check the correctness of the nipple grip. The baby should be put on the left hand (if you apply to the left breast), and the right supports the head of the crumb, while directing it to the nipple, as soon as the baby opens the mouth, immediately put a breast into it.

Pose "Overhanging".

The kid lies on the barrel, on the pillow, and the mother leans over him, leaning on her elbows. I would not say that this position is convenient - the back and arms get tired. But if you feel that the milk does not completely release the breast - use the pose at least once a day.

Pose "Sleep the baby."

Feeding standing, holding a crumb on his hands, with a slight wiggle, you can say quite uncomfortable. But to calm down and put the baby to bed is very suitable. Such feeding can be completed or begin lying on the bed, depending on how the child is set up.

The kid is sitting.

This pose is suitable for children from six months. In this case, there is a continuous communication between mother and child, in addition, it is very convenient while looking at the baby and talking with him.

The baby is standing.

Such breast-feeding is recommended for short-term feeding, for example, to calm a baby who is afraid of something on the street.

Feeding postures for the problem chest

Pose "Soccer Ball".

It wears its name, because the child is kept and fed from under the armpit. This position is recommended for feeding at least once a day to release the milk-filled lower and lateral lobes of the breast. The baby is put on several pillows on his side so that his body passes at hand, legs behind his mother, and the head was just opposite the nipple.

Pose "Knave".

Used for stagnation of milk in the upper chest. A crumb is conveniently placed on the barrel and a roll or cushion under the back to fix the position.

We're eating on Mom.

Very good posture is the direct and close contact of the mother with the baby. Mum is reclining on the pillow, and the baby eats, lying on his mother. This is convenient if the milk flows very quickly - so the baby will suck and do not choke on milk.

We offered enough postures necessary for comfortable breastfeeding of the baby. But I can say that each mother finds no more than 1-3 poses that are comfortable for her and her child. Good luck feeding you.
