Proper breathing during labor

Childbirth is just one day in the life of the baby and his parents. Only one ... But such a day, which largely determines the future development of crumbs. On how the childbirth takes place, much depends: the state of health of the child and his mother, the correct breathing during childbirth, the features of the nervous system of the baby and many subtle psychological moments, which we will talk about separately.

On the other hand, in the naturally occurring process of delivery, there are sometimes failures and complications that require compulsory medical intervention. Therefore, many practicing obstetrician-gynecologists consider the attitude to the exclusively natural course of childbirth, to put it mildly, immature romance. Of course, it's up to you, and no one has the right to impose your understanding of ideal births. But it is important for future mothers to know that some of the problems that arise in childbirth can be corrected independently through various methods of self-regulation.

These methods include:

- change in the position of the body and movement during childbirth;

- water procedures;

- massage techniques;

- auto-training;

- Relaxation;

- psychological help;

- respiratory methods.

Methods of self-regulation allow a woman to be an active participant in her own births and to control their current. And if these methods, including the methods of proper breathing during childbirth, for certain reasons do not help to cope with the complications that arise, then a woman giving birth herself can make a decision about medical intervention during childbirth.

Basis of the basics

Yogis say that "breathing reflects our inner state, therefore control of one's breath is control over one's consciousness. In ordinary life, all kinds of physical and mental stress cause us to change the rhythm of breathing. When we are happy or anxious, tired or surprised by something, our breathing can vary from deep to superficial, from smooth to discrete, from rhythmic to breathing with a ragged nervous rhythm.

In childbirth a woman experiences a complex multifaceted load, therefore at a certain stage of the growth of labor, breathing begins to change spontaneously.

The body of the woman giving birth itself requires changing the frequency, depth and rhythm of breathing. Unfortunately, not always spontaneous changes in breathing help. Sometimes untimely hyperventilation of the lungs, involuntary breath retardation, hysterical breathing and other negative changes in the breathing pattern can aggravate the woman's negative experiences and lead to loss of self-control, inadequate behavior, severe emotional state, and inability to respond to requests from midwives.

Breathing helps a woman giving birth:

- relax during the fight, and most importantly - between them;

- calm down, relieve nervous tension;

- keep under control the pain;

- accelerate sluggish labor activity;

- to save forces;

- Activate your resources at the right time.

The first period of childbirth

If the cervix is opened slowly, you can "push" the process with the help of "tightening" or "jerk" breathing.This breathing shortens the duration of the bout, without reducing its effectiveness.

It often happens that the spontaneous pushing force of the uterus can not cope with the task of promoting the baby. Then the woman should use the so-called technique of increased effort.

At the beginning of the attempt, one should breathe deeply in the full force of the lungs, take a sharp deep breath, a small podvydokh and hold your breath; press your chin tightly against your chest;

Try not to strain your face and relax the muscles of the pelvic floor, strain the muscles of the abdominal press and forcefully push on the pelvic floor, and in the end - a slow relaxed exhalation.

If necessary, this way one can breathe for one effort from one to three times.

Women who do not get a breath-holding breath can push themselves "into a scream." A loud, strong cry is similar to a good attempt.

In some cases, on the contrary, one must restrain an involuntary desire to push. The midwife usually gives the command: "Do not stumble!" This happens if the child has moved down earlier than the cervix has managed to open, or if attempts have a swift current.

Sometimes it is very difficult for a woman to understand how it is possible to restrain herself if she so much "tuzhit." In fact, at this moment you just have to avoid deep breaths, screams and breath-holding, which is best helped by breathing "dog-like" or breathing techniques during childbirth, which is characterized by a shallow breath and a sharp exhalation.

These same methods of restraining attempts are used at the time of teething of the child's head, so as not to injure the baby and not damage the mum's crotch. With weak (weak) attempts, you can catch up with their intensity due to deep and frequent breathing, used between attempts.

The kid learned this way of communication during the long months of his intrauterine development. This language informed him of periods of calm and excitement, charged him with energy and reassured him.

It is this method that is most accessible to every mother in order to calm the baby in childbirth, to add to it optimism, self-confidence and support, despite all the troubles experienced by a baby in the process of birth.

Breathing, as it were, sets up all the members of the genera for one wave and helps create a common, harmonious melody of a significant event.
