Romy Schneider - the most beautiful woman of the 20th century

Romy Schneider is the most beautiful woman of the 20th century, a talented actress. It seemed she was just doomed to be happy ...

Rosemary Albach-Retti (future Romy Schneider) was born September 23, 1938 in the Austrian capital - Vienna. Her father, Wolf Albach-Retti, an aristocrat by birth, a famous actor and no less famous rake, met with a pretty Austrian actress Magda Schneider on one of the sets. Suddenly, the flash of love, as usual, blinded - so both could not correctly assess the strengths and weaknesses of each other. However, four years later everything fell into place: leaving Magde with two charming children - the daughter of Rosemary and the son of Wolf Dieter - father decided to return to the "habitual" life and left the family.

At the age of 16, Rosemary was invited to play a major role in a multi-part costume melodrama about the Bavarian princess Elizabeth (her family called her Sissi), who later became the wife of the Austrian Emperor Franz Josef. For three years - from 1954 to 1957 - three films were filmed about the princess, the darling of the Austrians. And Rosemary did not disappoint their hopes: the tapes had just a sensational success! The young actress, who appeared in the credits as Romy Schneider, became the national heroine of Austria, she was called only "our Sissi". The girl herself reacted to the glory suddenly fallen on her quite skeptical. "It was a piece of too sweet cake, from which I felt sick," - she wrote in a diary.

By the beginning of 1958, 20-year-old Romy had already starred in 11 films. But the mother considers it her duty to do everything to help Romy to climb one more step in the conquest of the world screen. And Frau Schneider achieves his: Romy gets a role in the French film "Christina", the shooting will be held in Paris.

Delon forever

Romy's partner in "Christine" was a handsome man with blue eyes and a luxurious dark head of hair, a certain Alain Delon. Talented and insolent in equal measure. For a long time, Romy did not realize that his endless ridicule over her was a kind of challenge to the world, a prosperous and well-fed bourgeois like this pretty Austrian fool. And yet - the desire to hide that in fact, "fool" he really likes. And Romy? For the first time in her life, she was happy! After the shooting, she moved to Paris, and Alain gave her a ring, which was supposed to mean that they were the bride and groom. But if the naive Romi decided that now they are bound by certain obligations towards each other, then Alain adhered to this point of the opposite opinion. Love for the adored "little girl" absolutely did not interfere with his numerous novels. Then he offered her a hand and heart, but soon asked for a reprieve - he must fly to Italy: Lukino Visconti himself invited him to appear in the film "Rocco and his brothers." And the great Italian decides to stage in Paris, on the stage of the Teatro de Paris, specially for Romy and Alain John Ford's play "You can not call her a debauchery" about the criminal love of your sister and brother.

Romy played great: it was no longer "screened Sissi", not a novice actress, who was guided on the set by the instructions of the directors. Her talent has grown stronger and blossomed. The success of the performance surpassed all expectations. At the premiere were Edith Piaf, Jean Mare, Ingrid Bergman, Brigitte Bardot. Paris fell at her feet - unlike her beloved ...

Meanwhile, on the wave of new success, Romi are beginning to be invited to appear in Italy, France, Germany, and America. Charter to wait for the promised marriage, despaired because of constant betrayals, which Alain did not hide, she decides to go to work with her head. And he leaves for Hollywood. For three years, held there (1962 - 1965), Romy starred and films. After working in Orson Welles' drama The Process, the American press began talking about her as "the best foreign actress of the year". In February 1963 she informs Alain that she is planning to fly to Paris for a few days, since she is very bored. Alain did not meet her. And when she arrived home, she saw on the desk a note: "I give you my freedom and leave my heart." But did such freedom really need her ?!

In search of happiness

Saved a meeting with the German director and actor Harry Meyen. This meeting changed a lot in her life, and in him too. He was 41 years old, she was 27. He is at the peak of his career, married for a long time, and has two children. But the love for Romy is so strong that he forgets everything in the world and leaves the family. In the spring of 66th in Berlin the wedding took place, and in the same year they had a son, David.

A young mother fumbles with the baby, arranges the house, like a real Frau, receives guests. Remembering his passion for painting, he draws a lot, learns to take pictures. The main thing is to prove to yourself and others that she is really happy, that she really likes Harry, life has entered the right track. But it turns out that playing in life is much harder than on the stage ... Therefore, when Delon called and proposed to act with him in Jacques Dere's "Pool", she agreed without any conditions. And even managed to convince Harry that it was just shooting, that between them and Alain nothing could be happening, that love is long past and it will not be revived any more. But ... after filming Alain immediately leaves, realizing that it was impossible to return the past. And Romy is convinced even more that no one can replace Delon for her.

In 1973, Harry filed for divorce. Two years later they are bred. And in 1979 he commits suicide by hanging himself on the scarf of an infinitely beloved woman ... Romi, of course, blamed herself, she was shocked, depressed, but next to her were already a new husband, Daniel Byazini and little daughter Sarah, they helped to endure this hit. But he was not the last.

In 1980, right on the set, she gets sick badly, she is immediately taken to the hospital and is undergoing a complicated operation, removing one kidney. After the operation - an attack of depression. Then - divorce from Biasini. And, at last, the most terrible: on July, 5th, 1981 on absurd accident, having decided to get home through a metal fence, David priparivaetsja on sharply honed stakes and in terrible tortures dies! The death of his son finishes Romy finally. She feels that she is destroyed. By some miracle he continues to act: he plays in his last two films - the detective "Under the preliminary investigation" and the subtle psychological drama "The Passer from Sanssouci." However, depression does not recede any day. Depression plus alcohol. A dead end from which to not get out.

The morning of May 30, 1982 will not find her alive. She was too tired to hope, believe, wait ... And not a single soul nearby! .. The candle went out. The official version: a heart break. However, there were rumors of suicide. Be that as it may, the truth about the death of Romy Schneider, the most beautiful woman of the 20th century, was known only to the belated tramp dawn ...
