Siamese and Balinese cats - princess and dancer

One of the most popular and favorite breeds of cats is the Siamese. This breed is hundreds of years old, but the exact time and place of its origin is unknown. According to one of the hypotheses, the homeland of the Siamese is South-West Asia, in favor of which is shown by the external similarity of the representatives of this breed with the cats of this region. In Siam (now - Thailand) Siamese cats were considered royal and were under intensive protection in the palace in Bangkok. Until now, no data on their special breeding has survived. In 1884 a pair of Siamese came from Siam to England. Cats were donated to the consul's sister, who later headed the Club of Siamese Cats. All modern Siamese trace the pedigree from the pair brought to the island in the 19th century. Siamese cats did not interbreed with any European breeds, therefore they are direct descendants of ancient Siamese.

The color of the Siamese is usually a color-point - light with dark spots on the muzzle, paws, tail and ears. This phenomenon is called acromelanism (incomplete albinism) and is associated with physiological characteristics: cold parts of the body are more pigmented than warm parts. The newborn kittens are usually white, finally the color is established after six months. The most common force-points are cats with dark brown marks, but the spots can be of a blue hue - in blue points. In addition, the marks are chocolate and lilac. For the wool of Siamese, it is better to take care of your hands: for this you need to moisten them with water and lead from head to tail. The dead hairs will remain on the palms. Also, the Siamese cat needs to periodically bathe, brush her ears and teeth.

Siamese cats change their culinary preferences rarely. It is important to ensure that the animal receives all vitamins and trace elements in sufficient quantities. Siamese cats are very active, they want to be in the center of attention, are very attached to people and can even be very jealous, considering the owner their property. At the same time, they are very trusting, curious and playful. Siamese mew very much, changing the pitch of the sound, depending on what they want to achieve. These cats are largely unpredictable, so the owner will need such qualities as poise and dynamism in order to find a common language with them. A semi-longhaired variety of Siamese cat is Balinese, or Balinese. The reason for the appearance of these animals was the natural mutation of the Siamese. In the 30-ies. 20 cent. In America short-haired Siamese breeds began to produce long-haired kittens. For a long time this fact was shamefully hushed up, however, in the end, the breeders decided to try to cross the rejected individuals.

Soon the breeders brought out clean lines of Siamese cats, whose hair was long. The new breed was registered in 1965 as Siamese long-haired. However, in 1970, one of the breeders, the grace and grace of these cats reminded the movements of the Balinese temple dancers. So there was a modern name for the breed - the Balinese. Classical Balinese cat in body structure and proportions should be identical to the cat Siamese. The main difference is in wool - it is silky, medium length, has no undercoat and is adjacent to the body. The length increases from the head to the tail, where the longest hair is. Balinese do not require special care - all that is needed, the cat will do herself. It is useful from time to time to comb the animal and to bathe, using shampoo and conditioner for long-haired cats. Balinese are very poorly tolerant of loneliness. They become attached to the owner and like to "talk" with him. In addition, this breed is distinguished by intelligence, friendliness and energy. A Balinese cat is able to become a faithful, loving friend to her master.
