Small bathroom: how to effectively use the space

A small bathroom is an objective reality of an economy-segment apartment. But even a small bathroom can really be made stylish and functional. How? Designers share professional tricks that work without fail.

Suspended constructions instead of floor. If the area of the bathroom is only several meters, it is more rational to abandon the standard floor toilet, replacing it with a wall model. The same rule applies to the sink - corner and hinged washbasins allow you to save a useful space and at the same time look pretty elegant. A useful tip: mixers should not be placed in the center, but on the side of the ceramic bowl - so it is much more convenient to use them.

Sliding screens instead of shower boxes. Choosing bathroom plumbing, it is difficult to abandon stereotypes: a cabin with a pallet is considered the best choice to save space. Meanwhile, there is another curious solution - a sliding glass door with drain in the floor. Such a design achieves several tasks: it simplifies the cleaning process, takes up a minimum of space and visually "facilitates" the design.

Hidden niches instead of cabinets and chests of drawers. Without shelves and drawers in the bathroom, it is difficult to manage - but any furniture in a small bathroom will seem more dimensional than it really is. Niches practically do not "eat" important centimeters, rather, on the contrary - they allow increasing the free area. If you use mirrors instead of panels or wings - the effect will be even more obvious.
