Sweating: folk remedies

Our body is designed in such a way that it is vitally necessary to sweat it. This useful function regulates heat exchange, maintains water-salt balance, removes harmful substances from the body. But if the clothing quickly becomes damp, the palms are constantly sticky, and the smell of sweat does not give you any - it's already a problem called hyperhidrosis. In fact, very many people are not haunted by excessive sweating - folk remedies for fighting this disease, as well as medical methods of treatment are set out below.

How much should I sweat? Doctors calculated: at an average temperature the norm is from 800 to 1200 ml per day, that is, about a liter of liquid. Unfortunately, this amount can not be measured accurately under normal conditions, and one's own sensations are necessary to navigate. Excessive sweating becomes a problem at a time when it starts to inconvenience.

How serious is it?

Doctors are sure: the symptoms of hyperhidrosis can not be ignored. They can talk about serious health problems. In particular, some diseases of the thyroid gland, pituitary gland, disorders of the nervous system (neurasthenia, vegetovascular dystonia) and metabolism, tuberculosis, some oncological and infectious diseases and diabetes are manifested in this way.

We make the diagnosis

Increased sweating or hyperhidrosis can be of two types: general and local. If sweat is released evenly throughout the body and in large quantities - this is a common hyperhidrosis. Without medical assistance here is indispensable. You need to start the examination with a visit to the therapist. He will appoint primary tests and give directions to specialists. The endocrinologist will assess the condition of the thyroid gland, and also check the level of hormones and glucose (sugar) in the body. A neurologist should be consulted to confirm or exclude nervous diseases, and also make sure that you do not have vegeto-vascular dystonia. Probably, in addition consultation of the oncologist and the phthisiatrist - which is engaged in treatment of a tuberculosis is required.

When the problem affects only the palms, axillary cavities or feet - this is a local hyperhidrosis. He, most likely, is not connected with the internal state of the body. Therefore, there is no direct danger to health, but there are difficulties with career and personal life. Abundant sweating can even lead to serious depression. In addition, local hyperhidrosis promotes the development of skin diseases, especially fungal lesions of feet and dermatitis. Fortunately, there are effective ways to forget about this problem.

How will we be treated?

Doctors recommend first calm down and prescribe valerian, motherwort, bromides, Bekhterev's medicine. In addition, it is good to drink a course of vitamins and microelements: calcium, rutin, vitamins A, E, B6, B15. This is enough. Ionophoresis, general and local ultraviolet irradiation, UHF, Charcot's douche and Bucca rays are shown from physiotherapeutic procedures.

If the axillary basins are sweating and deodorants do not help, injections of botulinum toxin - dysport or botox, the one that helps fight against facial wrinkles - can be made. It is administered in microdoses, and after a few days the result becomes noticeable. The drug simply blocks the nerve impulse that goes to the sweat gland, and thus helps to get rid of excessive sweating by about half a dozen, after which the injections should be repeated. The entire procedure takes approximately 15 minutes and is done under local anesthesia.

The radical method is surgical intervention. Operations are done under local anesthesia, sometimes even on an outpatient basis. In this case, surgeons use two methods. With sweating of the palms, a nerve is cut or burned, which transmits impulses that cause sweating. And for the armpits, another method is used: in the axillary region a small incision is made, and with a special tool some of the sweat glands is scraped out. Thus, sweating in this area is reduced by about 70 percent. And after the operation, deodorants are finally effective, which did not help before.

Folk remedies

You can fight with profuse sweating on your own. To do this, there are several proven recipes. If you are already tormented by excessive sweating - folk remedies can become a salvation for you.

1) Infusion of sage or the root of valerian - half a glass a day.

2) Axillary cavities can be wiped with 1-2% salicylic alcohol.

3) For the feet, the oak bark powder is effective. They are abundantly sprinkled with socks or stockings on the inside. It usually takes two to three weeks for the amount of sweat to drop by half. Use the oak bark for longer does not follow, otherwise sweating can stop completely, and this is fraught with intoxication for the body, which causes fatigue and frequent headaches.

4) Instead of a powder, you can make baths with decoction of oak bark: 50-100 g of vegetable raw materials per 1 liter of water. Boil for 20-30 minutes over a small fire.

5) Another way: in the morning and in the evening, wash your feet with salt water. 1 teaspoon of salt to dissolve in a glass of hot water, then cool a little.

6) In the summer you can try 2 times a day to shift your toes with fresh birch leaves.

7) And, of course, frequent washing (once or twice a day) and daily fresh linen are the main helpers in fighting the unpleasant odor. In addition, when perspiration affects the skin for a long time, its acidic index changes and mikozy, dermatitis, eczema and other diseases easily appear.

How to choose a deodorant?

Deodorants differ not only in consistency and method of application (roller, stick or spray). Pay attention to the composition and mode of action, as well as how the skin reacts to the new remedy.

Deodorants inhibit the multiplication of bacteria caused by the appearance of sweat on the skin, and thereby eliminate the unpleasant odor, but they do not actually reduce sweating. In addition, these drugs sometimes contain triclosan, which doctors consider more likely a harmful additive, since it destroys not only harmful, but also beneficial bacteria. In this sense, farnesol is less dangerous. Pay attention to the composition of the deodorant, if you are allergic or skin sensitive and prone to irritation.

PERFUMIATED DEODOSITORS choke the smell of sweat with an artificial fragrance. These funds are better to use as light perfume, and in the form of protection from sweat, use only in cool weather and those who do not suffer from excessive perspiration.

ANTIPERSPIRANTS struggle not with bacteria, but with the allocation of sweat. Salts of aluminum or zinc in their composition clog the ducts of sweat glands. Antiperspirants come in different forms. The most common is deodorant antiperspirant. If the problem is serious, other means are recommended: powder (powder) for dusting feet or other skin areas, solution, decoction and infusion for wiping and baths, gel, ointment. But, unfortunately, these remedies are not a panacea. The problem is that they can cause an inflammatory process. To avoid this, remember: antiperspirants can not be used on the beach, in the bath and during sports. The most effective are deodorant antiperspirants, which act immediately in three directions: reduce sweating, destroy bacteria and contain perfume fragrance.
