After the second competitive day at the competition "New Wave 2008" in Jurmala, the leader was the representative of Russia.
The second competition day was dedicated to national hits. The audience had to listen to a lot of rework of wonderful songs, which in the original looked like masterpieces. The creative results of the alterations were different, which was fixed by the jury.
The winner of the second round and the leader of the competition as a whole became the Russian representative Iris, with the eccentric performance of Laima Vaikule's song "Easy jazz walk" with the male ballet. She is 19 years old and has participated in many international competitions, including the Black Sea Games (2001, First Prize), New York, Tel Aviv, Kiev (2005, Grand Prix), the Humor Festival and variety art (2007, Second Prize).
Listens to funk, jazz, soul. Admits performers, unlike others, those who do what not everyone can do (Bobby McFerrin, Stevie Wonder). Irina decided to participate in the "New Wave" because she admired the atmosphere, as well as high ratings of the contest.
