The Princess Charlotte was baptized

Last night in Sandringham, in the county of Norfolk, the church of St. Mary Magdalene hosted the baptism ceremony for the daughter of Keith Middleton and Prince William, Princess Charlotte. The place of baptism was chosen not accidentally - it was here in August 1961 the ceremony of baptism of the grandmother of the little princess, Diana Spencer, took place.

The young family of Prince William in full force appeared at the church at 16:30. Kate, as always, was very elegantly dressed: she had a light coat from designer Alexander McQueen and a hat in a tone in the form of a tablet (this is the style preferred by the Duchess of Cambridge). William was dressed in a classic blue suit, and on the little George there were bright red shorts and a white shirt with red embroidery.

The sacrament of baptism was performed by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Wellby. During the ceremony, hymns that the royal family chose for this moment were heard: Come Down, O Love Divine and Praise to the Lord, The Almighty.

Kensington Palace reported that William's school friends - Thomas Win Stroubenzi and James Mead, childhood friend Kate-Sophie Carter, her cousin Adam Middleton, and Laura Fellowes, a relative of Princess Diana, became schoolgirls of the little princess.

The christening of Charlotte was a holiday for the British

Only the closest ones - Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Prince Charles with the Duchess of Camille, Kate's parents - Michael and Carol, the sister of the Duchess of Cambridge Pippa and cousin Michael - met at the christening of Charlotte. The only close relatives who could not come - the brother of William Harry, who a few days ago went with a charity mission to Namibia.

Despite the fact that the baptisms were closed, the British began to gather near the temple from early morning. As always, the feast of the royal family became a real festive occasion for Her Majesty's subjects. The royal family did not interfere with those who expressed a desire to greet the little Charlotte on the street before and after baptism: the whole area around the Church of Mary Magdalene was filled with Britons.

All gifts and flowers that fans of the royal family brought to the church were then sent to the children's hospice East Anglia's Children's Hospice, which oversees Kate.

The ceremony was rather quick - within 30 minutes, after which the family of monarchs went to a festive dinner. It is worth saying that during the preparation for the christening for Charlotte, a traditional shirt was specially made - a copy of the one in which in 1841 the eldest daughter of Queen Victoria was baptized.

Water for baptism was delivered specifically from the Jordan River. In honor of yesterday's important event, the Mint of the Kingdom issued special commemorative coins.
