Therapeutic properties of grass shepherd's bags

This plant is considered a weed, besides it is very prolific. It has other names: hearty grass, pastoral shepherd, spoons, sparrow's eye, buckwheat field, purse. Today we will talk about the medicinal properties of grass shepherd's bags.

The shepherd's bag grows in Russia and Ukraine everywhere, except for arctic regions. It occurs in any open space: the outskirts of fields, in courtyards, roadsides, parks. The shepherd's bag is an annual plant that grows to 40 cm in length, white flowers are collected in brushes, before the flowering they look like a shield. Fruits are triangular in shape, flat. Begins to bloom from April, ends in September. Collect the plant can be throughout the flowering period, but the most favorable period is spring. For the preparation of raw materials, the aboveground part is used - fruits, flowers and stems, the roots are used to make a hemostatic decoction.

When collecting the shepherd's bag pulled out with the root (preferably when the soil is dry), tied in bundles and suspended to dry in the shade. It is necessary to carefully inspect the plant, it can be affected by a fungus, similar to "powdery mildew". This kind of grass is not worth taking, because the fungus neutralizes the healing properties. Plaque becomes visible only at the last stage of development, so for prevention, you should leave the grass for a couple of days in the sun. The herb contains tannins, vitamins C, K, B2, A, P, D, flavonoids, alkaloids, organic acids, resins, amines (tyramine, choline, acetylcholine), alcohol inositol, potassium, essential oil.

The medicinal properties of the handbag are used for gastric, renal, pulmonary, uterine bleeding, blood stasis in the liver, urinary incontinence, in wounds, stomach ulcer, menopause. Suitable for equalizing blood pressure and metabolism, improves liver and intestinal function. It is also used as an antiseptic, analgesic, blood-cleansing, astringent, diuretic and cholagogue, helps with cancer.

Shepherd's bag is used not only for the treatment of diseases, it is popular in the culinary world. From this plant you can make mashed potatoes, soups and broths, salads and stuffing for pies, and from the seeds you will get a good mustard. In the far north, this herb is very valuable as a remedy for scurvy.

Pharmacies already sell ready-made extracts of the shepherd's bag, but it is also possible to prepare decoctions, infusions, tea or fresh juice at home.

To make juice : you need to take fresh grass (preferably young), scald it with boiling water and cut with a knife. Then pass into the meat grinder and squeeze the juice out of the resulting mass. For oral administration dilute with water 1: 1 and take 1c. l. 3-4 r. in a day. With cancer of the uterus and stomach, drink 5-6 r. a day for 1-2 tsp.

With diarrhea dilute in a pile of vodka 40 cap. juice, drink 2 times a day.

To stop bleeding from the nose, the juice is buried in both nostrils. Fresh undiluted juice is used as a lotion for small wounds and bruises.

For tea: 2 tsp. handbag brew a glass of boiling water and let it brew for 10 minutes. Drink 1 cup 2 r. a day in the form of heat.

Infusion: in 10 g of shepherd's bag pour a glass of boiling water and insist for about half an hour, then strain through 2-3 layer gauze. Take for 20-30 minutes. before eating on a tablespoon for 2-3 weeks. Infusion has an astringent property and is used for inflammatory diseases of the digestive tract, as well as for renal, uterine and pulmonary hemorrhages.

In the climax: in a glass of boiling water brew a tablespoon of herbs and let it brew for 2 hours. Drink before meals for 1-2 seconds. l. 4 r. in a day.

Spirituous tincture: mix raw materials with 70% alcohol 1:10 and infuse 2 weeks. in a dark place. Strain infusion should be taken on 20-30 cap. diluted in 1h. l. water before eating 3 r. in a day.

From the decoction of the shepherd's purse you can make lotions and compresses : boil for 1 minute a glass of water with 2 seconds. l. grass, drain.

For the regulation of menstrual cycles, with tumors and inflammatory processes in the uterus, the fees are used, which include a shepherd's bag:

mix 1 teaspoon herb, purse, yarrow, bird elephant, elephant root high, aira and lyubistok, leaves of wild strawberry, nettle and mistletoe white + 1 dessert spoon of arnica mountain. Take a liter of boiling water for 2 seconds. l. collection, bring to a boil, let it brew and drain. Take with myoma strictly according to the scheme:

tumor less than 5 weeks - at 8h. mornings, 14h. days and 20h. evening (3 times per day) 75 ml each;

tumor more than 5 weeks - at 8h. morning, 12 and 16h. days and 20h. evenings (4 times a day) for 100 ml.

Herbal collection with heavy menstruation:

mix for 5 seconds. l. shepherd's bag, yarrow, the roots of the cotton foot and 2 s. l. bark of oak. 1c. l. collecting brew 1 tbsp. boiling water and insist 50 min. Then strain and drink half the glass in the morning and evening before eating.

Medicines containing a shepherd's bag are contraindicated in pregnant women, with poor menstruation, increased blood clotting, and thrombophlebitis.

As you can see, sometimes the medicinal properties of the grass of the shepherd's bag can be contraindicated. Remember, there must be moderation in everything!
