In this I was fortunate enough to be convinced personally - during the visit to the "Center for International Medical Services" at the University Hospital Freiburg. There were a lot of reasons: to see with your own eyes how they "are treated", to get acquainted with the world medicine lights and to attend a large-scale congress dedicated to the decade of the center's activity. The trip and the congress impressed: visitors from all over the world came to Freiburg, and among them it was very pleasant to see compatriots, leading specialists of Ukrainian clinics. It is gratifying that Ukrainians became honorary participants of the event. However, nothing surprising: for many years the center has been actively developing relations with the countries of Eastern Europe.
Than rich?
The clinic was founded in 1457 on the basis of the Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg. The experience accumulated by centuries, traditions, principles of work - it is not surprising that eight university graduates became Nobel laureates. Now the University Clinic is the main employer in the region. From the first minutes it amazes everyone: on the huge territory of the institution the work is boiling - in 14 specialized clinics more than nine thousand employees work. Experts in different fields of medicine daily consult and treat patients from all over the world, including our compatriots. Here are located the largest in the country cardiology center, neurocentric center and gynecological center, as well as centers of general and thoracic surgery, departments of gastroenterology, hematology, diabetes, endocrinology, radiology and urology. A large ophthalmological center, a dermatological clinic and an ENT disease clinic accept patients. Special atmosphere
During the excursions to the offices, the absence of a "hospital" atmosphere was pleasantly pleasant. Spacious light chambers, friendly smiling staff, perfect purity - I want to get up in spirit and get better soon. Yes, and they accepted me as an expensive guest - the same thing awaits any patient who wishes to be treated in Freiburg. The staff of the center organize reception and stay at the highest level. What is worth only a picturesque town with clean air (the main means of transportation here are bicycles), narrow cozy streets and pleasant passers-by. You can visit the famous and beloved Russian poets and writers Baden-Baden, stroll through the Black Forest, neighboring Basel and Strasbourg.
For those who can not come to Freiburg, the Center provides such services as "second opinion", telemedicine and teleconsultations. The congress reported that in the framework of the Telemedicine project in 2009, 88 tele-radiological consultations were conducted. And most of the patients who received the consultation, then came to the treatment in Freiburg.
