In ancient Rome, essential peppermint oil was used to spray furniture and rooms in the halls for meals in order to create a cheerful festive mood for the guests. A little while later students used wreaths made from the stems of this plant to stimulate brain activity.
Use of mint oil

Peppermint oil can be used for cosmetic purposes. Often it is used in the composition of various means for the fatty skin type. This essential oil removes inflammation, soothes, cools and tones irritated skin. Mint oil can also be used to relieve itching and swelling from insect bites. In addition, oil perfectly helps to normalize the work of the sebaceous glands in the treatment of hair, eliminates pain and inflammation from burns.
With the help of mint oil, you can cure yeast erosion, and fungal lesions of hair, skin, nails.
It will effectively combine peppermint oil with the following essential oils: rosemary, eucalyptus, lavender, grapefruit, mandarin, lemon.
Peppermint oil can also be added to the aroma lamp to repel insects, remove sharp unpleasant odors, and just to flavor the room. The wonderful aroma of peppermint can help in relieving tension, fatigue and irritation, soothe you. But here you should not overdo it, because overdose can cause problems with sleep, there will be excessive anxiety.
With tuberculosis, meteosensitivity, dysmenorrhea, headaches and muscle pains, heart diseases and liver diseases, diarrhea, nerve vomiting and asthma, peppermint oil can be used inside. Only before use, consult with your doctor. External oil is recommended for pain in muscles and joints, headache and toothache, radiculitis, lumbago, as well as for wilted, inflamed, oily skin.
If ingested, mix 1 tsp. honey, ½ tbsp. boiled water, 3 drops of peppermint oil.
In order to scare off insects, apply a few drops of oil on the pillow.
During baths or the preparation of compresses, add 3 to 7 drops of peppermint oil to the water.
For inhalation, mix 1 tbsp. Hot water with 5 drops of peppermint oil.
For massage, add 0, 001 l of base oil 7 drops of peppermint essential oil.
In the aromaticamp, drip 3 to 5 drops of oil, and into the aroma bottle from 1 to 3 drops of oil.
For the treatment of teeth, you can apply appliques by first mixing the peppermint oil with vegetable oil in a 1: 1 ratio.
For pain and spasms, apply a mixture of base oil and mint oil in a 2: 1 ratio to the painful area.
It should be noted that peppermint oil has contraindications. Oil is forbidden to use:
- for the treatment of children under the age of six;
- in the presence of bronchospasm;
- It is impossible to apply during the use of homeopathic remedies.
The use of mint oil is also not recommended for young men and boys, since it can lead to a weakening of male potency.
