What date is the day of the Airborne Forces: the history of the holiday
In 1939 in the occupied Tajik city of Garm landed the landing group, and on August 2, 1930 during the military exercises near Voronezh successfully operated a group of 12 paratroopers. It is this day that is considered the birthday of the Airborne Forces. In 1931 the first airborne division was created in the Leningrad Military District. The main task of the "blue berets" is to act where other types of troops are not capable. Hence the famous motto of the Airborne Forces: "No one but us!".
The amphibious brigades performed particularly vividly during the Second World War: they took part in the battles of Halkin Gol, fought on the territory of Belarus, Lithuania and Ukraine, landed on Southern Sakhalin and in Port-Atura.
Numerous airborne brigades fought heroically in Afghanistan and Chechnya.
There are no former paratroopers, so on August 2 they put on their blue berets and those who gave their homeland 20-30 years ago and those who are serving today. The main thing is to congratulate them cheerfully.
Congratulations on the Airborne Day
The most popular festivities on August 2 are St. Petersburg and Moscow, Rostov-on-Don and Voronezh, and, of course, Ryazan - the cradle of airborne troops. Traditional events are sports, demonstration landing, laying wreaths and festive prayer services, because the day of the Airborne Forces coincides with the memorable day of the Prophet Elijah. In the evening, traditional bathing in the fountain!
Do not forget to congratulate your relatives and friends. Suitable are these words:
