When Kurban Bairam in 2015: Muslim Traditions

Kurban-Bayram is a Muslim holiday, which in common people is also called the day of sacrifice. With the help of Kurban Bairam mark the end of the pilgrimage associated with visiting Mecca - Hajj - 70 days after another Islamic holiday Uraza-Bairam. Kurban-bairam is a feast of the memory of the sacrifice of a prophet named Ibrahim, who in Islam is considered the first prophet of monotheism (monotheism).

Such a legend is described in the Qur'an. Ibrahim had a dream in which the archangel brought him a message from Allah himself. In this message, he told Ibrahim to sacrifice his son. It was a kind of verification of faith. The son of Ibrahim did not resist the actions of his father, but when he propped the knife to his throat, he could not make a sacrifice - Allah did not allow him to do this. The victim was replaced by a ram, and Ibrahim Allah gave another son.

When is the holiday of Kurban Bairam in 2015?

Muslims are already asking themselves when Qurban Bayram will be in 2015. According to the latest clarifications from the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Bashkortostan and the latest changes in the Department of Religious Affairs of the Turkish religion, the most important Islamic holiday will be celebrated on September 24, 2015.

Kurban-Bayram always lasts three days. Muslims believe that at least once in a lifetime each of them must necessarily make a pilgrimage to Mecca. And when this can not be done, it is necessary to remember the sacrifice and fulfill it regardless of its location. For the ritual, the best animals are selected and performed in specially designated places. Before the beginning of the sacrifice, the animal is padded so that his head looks towards Mecca. Until now, this tradition exists in many Muslim cities and towns. But not just rams, but also goats, sheep, cows, bulls and camels are sacrificed. It is believed that the sheep, goat and sheep are a sacrifice brought to Allah for one member of the family, but a cow, bull or camel is already for seven.

As the Muslim holiday Kurban Bairam

The Muslim tradition says that Kurban is what makes a person closer to God, and the rituals that take place with an animal are a kind of spiritual appeal to him.

As we have already said, Kurban Bairam is the culmination of Hajj, that is, pilgrims come to Mecca and perform a sacrifice on Mount Arafat. Previously, this was a real ram sacrifice, and today there is a bypass of the Kaaba (seven laps) and symbolic throwing of stones.

During this holiday, Muslims must bathe and wear solemn, clean clothes. Further, from the very morning they visit the temple, on the way to which it is necessary to pronounce Takbir - the exaltation of Allah. In the mosque itself, festive prayers are read, in which they also glorify Allah and the Prophet Muhammad. The sermons explain how hajj arose, and what significance the sacrifice generally has. Such a festive sermon is called khutb.

Muslims always look forward to Kurban Bairam eagerly and try to celebrate it, observing all the necessary canons.
