Additives in baby food

As a rule, newborn babies from the moment of birth are getting used to new taste sensations. They also have their own preferences and tastes, children do not understand that tasteless can also be useful. It is very hard to make a baby eat a dish that does not like it. Such a problem today is solved chemically, or rather with the help of flavor additives, various dyes, etc.

Parents should be very responsive to the choice of baby food. After all, your child deserves all the best. Therefore, being in the supermarket or in the store, when buying baby food, read the first thing with the composition, what products it includes, whether they are good, fresh or not (expiration date), whether allergens and chemical additives are present.

Everyone knows perfectly well that every manufacturer should specify absolutely all components and additives in the baby food, but, unfortunately, practice shows that not all manufacturers are conscientious about their direct responsibilities. On many additives in children's food manufacturers are silent. There are also those who hide the forbidden components in the baby food. Such, for example, as GM, or as we are more accustomed to call them - GMOs. Although all the doctors have long been against the genetically modified additive. At parents at once there are questions - whether are contained in a canned food dyes preservative and various chemical components. In general, all kinds of preservatives, flavors, dyes, spices should not be present in the baby food. But is this rule respected? Everything basically depends on the conscience of the manufacturer and your care.

To begin with, we will deal with flavor enhancers and flavorings in baby food. The most popular is sodium glutomate. It is difficult nowadays to find a product that does not have this flavor enhancer. Typically, it is used to replace the taste of meat, its code name on the label E 621. Scientists using experiments on rats found that sodium glutomate causes disturbances in the brain robot. It is clear that this supplement is prohibited in children's nutrition.

How to determine the harmfulness of the additive

For the knowledge of parents, the letter "E" denotes belonging to food additives approved in Europe. That number or code that stands first is the group of substances to which it belongs. For example: 3-it's antioxidants; - enhancer of flavor and taste; 4 are stabilizers; 1-dyes; 5-emulsifiers (substances providing the creation of emulsions from immiscible liquids). But do not panic, not all of the above components are prohibited and dangerous in children's nutrition. Very many dyes are used in dairy products, they are divided into two types: synthetic and natural. Natural orange color can be obtained with the help of juice of oranges or tangerines, but even knowing about the naturalness of the dye, do not forget about the danger of allergies in the child to citrus. Rice flour, corn starch, etc. are also often used for children. All these natural components perform a definite function, bringing the product a balance, which is important in children's nutrition, since such additives increase the nutritional value and assimilability of the product.

Read the composition of products

Parents in the study of the product should remember that chemical non-natural flavors and dyes should not be present in the baby food. But you also need to remember about the characteristics of your child's body, because some modern children have intolerance to cow's milk proteins or an allergy to certain foods. For such children on sale it is possible to find a special baby food.

Nevertheless, to this day the most natural best and useful food for your baby remains (if the child is not allergic) breast milk of the mother.
