Baby-yoga from birth to eight weeks: introductory exercises and massage

Before you start, you should "ask permission" from the child by a massage, which tells the baby that you want to work with him. To do this, put your hands on the child's body and start making soft movements either on your stomach or on your feet, or both. Accompany the massage with talking with the child; you can describe what you are doing. Pay attention, what touches give the child pleasure and do as he likes.

Circles on the belly

This kind of massage works on a site that is very sensitive in most babies, perhaps because of problems of getting used to the cut cord. Later, such a reception can be used to calm a child when he is upset.

Place one hand on the baby's stomach with your entire hand and take a deep breath, inhale and exhale. Then, clockwise, stroke the abdomen around the navel.

Keep our feet

When you hold both feet of the child, in each of your hands there are seven thousand nerve endings. With this simple procedure, the flow of energy through the child is facilitated.

Keep the baby's feet, while gently pressing the soles with the big fingers.

"Dry massage"

If you decide not to do a whole body massage before starting yoga, then do a "dry" massage. Reception is a simple patting of the entire body of the baby. He will warm up the child before the occupation, will strengthen the blood circulation. Such a massage can be done both on top of clothes and without it.

Put your hands under the shoulders of the child lying on your back and gently stroke along the spine, with both hands stretching his hips and buttocks, and then going to the legs. Repeat several times, observing the reaction of the child. If he is crying, stop and pet him, and continue the exercise later. It must be all-encompassing, energetic, but nevertheless gentle stroking. These movements will help you learn how to deal with the child firmly and confidently.

Massage before yoga

According to the Indian tradition, classes with the child begin with a massage, and continue with yoga. Stroking can be carried over the clothes of the child.

Massage the entire body of the child (as with any pure oil, without it), apart from other positive effects, increases the child's sense of confidence and comfort - he feels that he is loved, calmed down, taken care of.

During the massage and any exercises in yoga, the same rules apply as in normal activities with children. Your actions should bring the child joy and pleasure. However, a child may not like some exercise, in which case you must understand the reason for the inadequate reaction of the child. Try to figure out what he does not like this method and why he does not want to fill the new exercise. Perhaps the answers to these questions will serve as a "key" to discovering some hidden physical ailments and other important points concerning the health of the newborn. The main thing is to timely recognize the problem and, if possible, prevent it, without losing time.

Foot and foot massage

An easy and pleasant way to start a massage and help a child to relax is the "Indian milking" of the feet.

With one hand, take the child by the ankle. With the other hand, grasp the baby bed like a bracelet and lift this "bracelet" over the foot to the foot, as if you were feeding a cow. Alternating motion alternate hands.

Complete the exercise by squeezing each toe and stroking the toes from the heel to your fingers with the thumb of your hand.

Breast massage

With both hands, stroke the chest from the middle with a circular overflowing movement to the sides, then back to the middle.

Then, with one hand, stroke diagonally across the chest to each shoulder, then back to the middle through the chest.

Hand massage

Holding the wrist of the child with one hand, the other, perform a grasping movement on the baby's arm from the armpit to the wrist, just like on the foot. Squeeze each finger and circle your thumb around the palm of your hand.

Face massage

Put your hands on the child's face on both sides, stroke over the eyebrows with your thumbs, then along the bridge of your nose and down around your cheeks and along the lower jaw.

Back massage

With an open palm, easily stroke the child's back from the neck to the buttocks, changing the arms in a flowing motion.

Thanks baby

Turn the child back and thank you for letting him massage him today.

Relaxation with a touch

If the baby was born prematurely or the birth was difficult, this calming movement is especially important, because it can associate touches with pain.

Look closely at how the newborn closely watches his lips, trying to catch as much information as possible, and perhaps tries to talk to you.

With one hand, hold the child's hand, and with the fingers of another, slap it lightly on the arm.

With a calm voice say: "Relax." When the child responds, smile and kiss him.

Grow healthy!
