Porridge from the east. Eastern cuisine is rich in dishes with rice. This dish of lentils and rice, which is served with fried onion and spices - is very popular in the Middle East. It is considered basic and it is served with yogurt and salad, but it can also be served as a side dish for meat dishes. The dish is very tasty and satisfying.
Ingredients:- Long grain rice 1.5 tbsp.
- Lentil green 200 g
- Paprika sweet ground 1 tsp.
- Unrefined sunflower oil 7 tbsp. l.
- Oil melted 50 g
- Onion purple 7 pcs.
- Zira (Cumin) ground 0.5 tsp.
- Salt 2 pinch
- Water 6.5 tbsp.
- Step 1 Prepare rice, lentils, onions, cumin and paprika.
- Step 2 Lentil well rinse and pour into a saucepan.
- Step 3 Pour 4 cups of water and cook until half cooked.
- Step 4 Cut the onions into half rings.
- Step 5 In a frying pan, heat the vegetable oil, pour the onions, fry until golden, then add the paprika and cumin. Salt.
- Step 6 In a saucepan with a thick bottom, mix half-finished lentils and rice, pour 2.5 cups of boiling water. Put on a slow fire, add salt, cover and cook until cooked rice and lentils.
- Step 7 In the prepared mzhaddaru pour in the hot melted butter and leave for 5 minutes.
- Step 8 Serve the onions in bowls.
