Correct food on New Year's Eve

We all look forward to the New Year's Eve with its festive atmosphere, the ringing of wine glasses and, of course, the generously set festive table.

Now very few people remember that initially the celebration of the New Year did not imply a plentiful feast. When Peter I, by his order, determined the New Year's Eve party on the night of December 31 to January 1, meant mass night walks with carnival and dancing, not a gluttony feast. And when in the second half of the nineteenth century, just like Christmas holidays, new feasts started to be organized, the entertainment program was still the main one, and the food on the tables was the most usual one. The October revolution of 1917 helped a lot from the fun to the feast: the idea of festivals received the status of a bourgeois relic and was replaced by the habit of celebrating the holidays while sitting at the table. Hence, and to introduce originality in such holidays it became possible only an abundance and a variety of dishes. Well, after the hungry military and post-war years, people who survived this difficult period, naturally, once again sought abundance at the festive tables, treating it as real joy and pleasure. In addition, close apartments did not contribute to the holding of games and dances. And when the TVs appeared in the houses, it became the final of turning the New Year's holiday into an exclusively feast.

So, again, we are expecting food abundance in the New Year's interior - and paying for our gastronomic joys the next day (and even more) will be our stomach and the body as a whole! If only do not pay attention to proper nutrition on New Year's Eve ...

Of course, it would be most effective not to eat at all, but is it feasible? In this case, first of all listen to your body - after all, as a rule, you know what products affect your health. But I so want to try just a little bit! Do not go on about your own greed. Feeling the onset of satiety, stop and take your mind off the food - dance, chat with the guests. The food at night, and especially the abundant food - the strongest stress for the stomach, which is "going to sleep", but suddenly set before the fact of "overtime". Psychologists call the cause of gluttony the psychological mood of a person - often immoderation in food is a sign of depression.

Do not go on a hunger strike before a festive meal. If you go to a party or a restaurant, before a light snack. Well, if you yourself receive guests, it's even better: while preparing the dishes for the table, you will have time and napoobovatsya, and nanyuhatsya attracting scents, and take a good look at food ...

While spending a feast in the late hours, limit to light snacks. Start eating with salads and fruits, while preferring vegetable salads, preferably without mayonnaise. It is better to exclude cuts from smoked sausages. If you have enough willpower - give up meat, replacing it with fish.

If you feel that you can not refrain from a tasty but heavy dish, take a break: eat some fruit, go out and dance. Returning to the table after such a change of activities, you will eat much less, because the appetite will partially calm down.

Do not drink during the feast a lot of liquids, especially carbonated drinks - enemies of the stomach, capable of causing raspiranie and swelling in the stomach - in this case, you can forget about the festive mood. Alcohol also contributes to overeating, dulling our sensitivity. Especially it is undesirable to wash down food with alcoholic beverages. Leave alcohol for toast and do not take a sip after every eaten salad or sandwich. Drink should be moderate, with good, quality drinks. If you are afraid of intoxication - take action in advance: drink a cup of well-brewed green or black tea with mint, strong black coffee with lemon juice or a slice of lemon. Try not to mix different kinds of alcohol. After drinking a traditional glass of champagne, then choose a drink for the whole evening or night and stick to it. Natural wines, as well as whiskey, cognac and brandy, obtained as a result of distillation, are considered the least dangerous. Alcoholic drinks with gas - champagne, beer - make us get drunk faster.

If you are used to drinking a meal - drink mineral water without gas. People prone to swelling, besides, it is important not to overeat salty foods: sodium, getting into the body with salt, delays the water in the body - so, after eating salt and abusing drinks, next morning you risk waking up swollen.

Advertising advises fans to eat medicines: it goes, ate a pill - and your overeating is no longer terrible, you can eat more and not be afraid that it will become bad. Doctors believe that this only leads to health problems in the future - drugs that are supposedly supposed to give a "rest" to the pancreas for a while, while it is "tired", makes the "lazy" pancreas think about whether it needs to continue to work at all. Inflammation of this organ does not arise from the most overeating, but from the fact that the exit from the gland into the 12-типерстную intestine is closed. As a result, the juice produced by the gland does not go to its "workplace", but, remaining in the gland, begins to corrode its walls. So, if you tried to hold back, but still pereeli - help your stomach in another way: the easiest way to induce vomiting. It's safer than taking pills or suffering all evening. During vomiting, hold the area of the stomach and liver by hand to avoid tearing them.

Organize for yourself the right food on New Year's Eve you can, using some tricks. For example, take a large saucer and put on it everything that you like, but quite a bit. Start with a salad dressed with vegetable oil. Useful fiber, contained in vegetables, will satisfy the appetite and help the better digestion of food.

Take less in the hands of cutlery - let them are behind the plate, so that you pay less attention to them. If you reach fork or spoon, think about whether you need these items.

And more: try to eat as slowly as possible - so you will understand the taste better, and get saturated faster, and the stomach will be easier to work with. Every time after you eat any dish, arrange a break for fifteen minutes.

Try to sit at a table next to a very sociable and cheerful person - he will distract you from eating with your conversations, leaving less time for food, and it's hardly convenient to laugh or smile with your mouth full.

We wish pleasant holidays!
