Decoupage - a popular decoration technique

Decoupage is a popular decoration technique and it is very suitable for classes with children. Not because it is too primitive: decoupage will require both assiduity, and preparation and, albeit small, but still investments. However, the result is so happy and inspiring that all this will pay off. The main thing is that you and your child will spend a lot of time together and with benefit.

Fashionable today decoupage - a popular decoration technique called the kind of applique.

Nuance is that for the use of napkins. In a standard pack twenty napkins of the same color, and you, most often, grab two or three for one thing. But there is an advantage in this: this collection of napkins prompts you to get acquainted with other admirers of decoupage - the popular decoration technique and exchange "raw materials".

What is decoupage? For decoupage any solid surface is useful, which you will not wash very often, since it is still an appliqué. Suitable for this plates and bottles (wooden and glass), you can decorate the applique with a small tray. In a word, fantasize during decoupage. First, arm yourself: Clay PVA (better in large banks - for construction work, but you can start with the usual, for schoolchildren); Brushes of different sizes (always soft); Napkins (the more varied, the better); Scissors; Clear varnish; Acrylic paints (sold in the departments for creativity in the toy stores).

What will be the order of work : We prepare the surface, and then cover it with glue. What does the prepared surface look like and what is it? For example, your child decided to decorate the bottle. If it is made of transparent light (white) glass, almost any decoupage will look good. But if the bottle is dark and the application is colored (red, green, blue), this moment should be taken into account, because you use only the top layer of the napkin, it is almost transparent and will not look as bright as a napkin under the glue layer. So you need to paint the bottle in the color that best suits you. Very beautiful looks decoupage on white, light green and yellow surfaces. Well, if the background is still dark, then you need to have very bright pictures and even, you may have to use two colored layers.

How to choose a pattern of napkins that you bought? Consult your assistants, the kids fantasy works fine. But first you need to choose some small patterns (hearts or flowers). Cut out, and then separate the top layer - napkins with a pattern, as a rule, three-layered. This top layer is gently glued to the surface, greased with glue. Use a soft brush to gently smooth it. The napkin very quickly soaks, therefore it is necessary to operate here very cautiously. Then cover the glued pattern with a layer of PVA and leave until completely dry. In order for the pattern to be brighter, you can glue another layer on top, but you do not need to get involved, because the pattern will protrude above the surface. And besides, two layers are very difficult to combine. After completely drying, cover the work with a layer of varnish. If the pattern does not have a clear outline, then it can be painted in colors. You can use "silver" and "gold" paints. This very animates the picture, but do not be too zealous: decoupage is a very gentle technique.

For the baby, too, there is a deal. Participation of children in this popular decoration technique is desirable at all stages. For example, even the smallest with pleasure will be primed with PVA glue. The glue is practically harmless, easy to wash off and wash, non-toxic, has no sharp odor. Cut and paste fragments - here, of course, will need the participation of older children. But even the smallest can say the word in the choice of napkins. Their ideas are always very interesting. Enjoy your time!
