Depression in the first months of pregnancy

Waiting for the birth of a baby is always connected with joy, because the birth of a new life is a miracle given to a person by nature. And if the child is desired, then no difficulties and troubles of the nine-month period preceding his birth will not overshadow the mother's happiness. However grave this period may be for her personally, this is nothing compared to the mystery of coming to the human world.

It's not for nothing that a woman is given more. More to know, more to feel, more to create. But she needs more patience, too, because there are a lot of tests. After all, in fact, not all women easily go to abortion, there are generally no such abortions. Most simply do not withstand the hardships, difficulties, discomforts and problems that pregnancy brings. And they are connected not only with appearance or figure. During the period of gestation of an infant, the body of a woman experiences a colossal load, and not only in the physical plane. Since the very first months of pregnancy, a woman has changed a lot, including the emotional sphere.

Therefore, positive emotions are considered necessary for a pregnant woman. They help to combat mood swings, which are considered quite normal in this period. The main thing is to avoid situations and stresses, all those factors, which can lead to depression in the first months of pregnancy. Nutritionists consider it necessary in the case of the first symptoms of the onset of depression to limit oneself to sweet, coffee and chocolate, and not to overdo it, to leave a lot of time for sleep and rest.

The most widespread signs of the onset of depression can be sleep disorders, poor appetite, apathy, depressed mood, tearfulness, short temper, nervousness, poor health, emotional explosions and swings. The causes of this condition can be either obvious or very minor unpleasant incidents, insufficient attention from others, divergence from the husband in any matters, the use of drugs, attacks of nausea, frequent urination and excessive salivation, fear of miscarriage and much more.

There is no woman who does not admit that along with a sense of happiness that pregnancy gives, there are also very difficult days when everything around is painted in black and, it seems, there will be no end to it. So how does one deal with depression, which in the first months of pregnancy affects most women?

To overcome this destructive for the body, someone can independently, and someone needs the help of loving people, relatives and friends, and even specialists in the field of medicine and psychology. One of the main manifestations of depression during the first months is fear and anxiety for the child, for the normal course of pregnancy, especially if it is the first. And here, much better than all soothing means and techniques, love and communication with loved ones are working. Especially with the future dad. From the husband during pregnancy of the wife very much depends, as during this period all women become too sensitive, exacting, subject to emotions and even simply capricious. Therefore, a sincerely loving person without outside help and medications is quite capable of having the most beneficial influence on his wife.

The tension adds and the experience does something wrong: either fall, or lift the heaviness, or not so sit down, or fail to lie down, or overeat ... This list can go on almost to infinity, and an ordinary person some of his points can cause only a smile. But pregnancy is not the usual state of the body, but the total mobilization of all its forces, a change in the habitual rhythm of life. And even the psyche does not immediately rebuild, adapts itself to changes in the state of the body and increase the load for all its systems.

Toxicosis, which is also observed in the first months of pregnancy, darkens the life of a woman, like nothing else. Fortunately, it is not at all, but the realization of this is not very consoling to those who it tortures. As well as understanding that in the third month its manifestations must pass. While a woman suffers from it, she is depressed, her physical and mental state is far from ideal. To escape from toxicosis, if you believe in folk remedies, you can use a simple method - a week to sit on some juices. Yes, not everyone can sit on such a diet, but there are not two peas for one spoon. You want to get rid of toxemia, you'll force yourself.

There are also those, especially among young mothers, who "wind" themselves due to changes in appearance and figure, forgetting that both are temporary phenomena. Yes, of course, after the birth it will be necessary to do special exercises to get the form back, but it's not so difficult, and in general little things compared to the happiness that by that time will settle in the house.

Believe me, it is worth it to be born, this gift of God, a small living lump, as you instantly forget all the troubles and hardships that have suffered in the last nine months. Both toxemia, and fears, and insomnia will seem ridiculously trivial in triviality in comparison with that indescribable happiness that you will experience. And such nonsense as depression will seem to you something unreal and an abnormal, abstract notion that has no place in the real world where a new miracle has settled - your child.
