Food for a baby after a year

The child turned a year, now it's time to give up breast milk and teach him to rough food. At this age the child already has several teeth, he already knows how to bite and chew a little. We need to gradually develop these skills.

The main food after a year is still porridge and mashed potatoes, but you can gradually give food that you need to chew. It can be salads, unprocessed soups, pieces of vegetables and fruits, to start without skin. It must be remembered that the child's digestive system has not yet formed completely, therefore fried dishes are harmful to the baby, it is best if you offer stewed or steamed dishes to him.

Beginning with one-year-old age, the children begin to accustom themselves to use the cutlery themselves.

It is necessary to accustom the child to a variety of food. The more different foods will be in a child's diet, the more nutritious the food will be.

A one-year-old child can be given food prepared from minced meat: cutlets, meatballs. Cereals and vegetables are no longer necessary to wipe. You can make casseroles, salads, give pieces of boiled and raw vegetables.

Food for a baby after a year should contain a lot of dairy products. In milk there is easily assimilated calcium, proteins, fats and vitamins. Dairy and sour-milk products the child should receive about 600 ml per day, and the mass of all food consumed per day is equal to a kilogram.

Full proteins, as well as phosphorus, are found in meat and fish. Together with meat of certain types of fish (for example, cod), a child can receive fish oil, which when used in this form does not cause children disgust. Many pharmacy preparations are prepared not from fish, but from seal fat. Meat is better to give low-fat, beef or chicken. Meat and fish should be given 4-5 times during the week.

Egg yolk can be given in small quantities to children under one year of age. The protein begins to be given much later, about one and a half years. The egg contains polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamins and lecithin. It is necessary to give only chicken or quail eggs, as the eggs of water birds are often infected with dangerous infections. Eggs boil hard, because raw eggs are much more difficult to digest.

Vegetables and fruits - a source of not only vitamins and mineral salts, but also fiber, which is necessary for the proper functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. The child can be given not only raw and boiled vegetables and fruits, but also frozen, canned, dried. In salads and soups, you can add greens. If there are no allergic reactions, there are no restrictions on the consumption of vegetables. Otherwise, exclude tomatoes, and give carrots and pumpkins with caution. Before cooking vegetables are soaked for several hours, and potatoes for a day.

For the proper functioning of the stomach, it is important that the food be balanced in terms of the amount of solids and liquid. Soups should be given to children as a first course, because when cooking, substances that are needed for digesting other dishes get into the broth. You need to give a small amount of soup on meat, fish, vegetable broth.

Soup soup, which is prepared for food for the baby after a year, is prepared in a certain way: the meat is put in cold water and cooked on low heat until cooked, then the broth is filtered and meat is put in it again. Then the soup is brewed according to the recipe.

To make the food for the baby varied, think through its menu. If you are cooking vegetable soup, then on the second serve a dish of cereals. If the soup is brewed with cereal, for the second, give vegetables.

At this age, children eat a little more: the average serving of soup is 120-150 ml. Do not feed the child by force, overeating at this age is very dangerous and leads to obesity and disruption of metabolic processes, which are very difficult to combat.

The best cereals for baby nutrition are buckwheat and oatmeal, they contain many proteins and minerals that the baby needs. Rice should be given cautiously, as it provokes in some cases constipation. In the porridge you can add berries and fruits, so the child will be more willing to eat them.

Bread can be given to a child every day, but not more than 150 g of white bread after a year and 50 g of black after a year and a half. In the cold season, give the child more bread and cereal than in the summer.

Do not get carried away with sugar, the acceptable daily rate for a baby from 1 to 3 years is 40-50 grams. An excessive amount of sugar provokes metabolic disorders, obesity, caries and even diabetes mellitus. Sugar can be successfully replaced with honey. Sweeten your food better with natural sugars contained in fruits.

New products should be given to a child no more often than once every three days. This will allow to track possible allergic reactions.
