Take birth, basic tips

By nature, the muscles of the vagina are much more supple than the cervix, which means they can be better developed before delivery. Nevertheless, there are several ways to affect the elasticity of the cervix. In total, we found 11 recommendations, following which you will be able to give your child a free path to life. Accept childbirth, basic advice - our topic today.

1. Prevention

The best way to prevent any problems in childbirth is to detect and cure all gynecological diseases before pregnancy. Experts advise after the onset of sexual activity at least once a year to undergo colposcopy - examination of the cervix through a microscope. This is the only way to detect erosion (the modern name is "ectopia"). This is an outlet of the inner tender tissues, more susceptible to infection and infection (papillomovirus, chlamydia, herpes). Ectopia can remain the same size for years, and may begin to grow. If the doctor does not do colposcopy, we can say that the neck is not examined at all.

2. Treatment

Previously it was believed that nulliparous women can not be cured by the cervix before taking delivery of the basic advice (possible scars can adversely affect the birth process). This opinion was due to the fact that erosion was cauterized by electrocoagulation or simply excised. These methods of treatment greatly injure the cervix, and the resulting connective tissue deprives it of elasticity (it does not stretch, but breaks). Today it is proved that the ectopy must be treated necessarily. The presence of a large damaged tissue site at the time of delivery increases the risk of ruptures occurring, as a rule, in the affected area. Modern methods of treatment the doctor selects individually for each patient. The cervix is not very sensitive to pain (there may be pulling pains in the lower abdomen, as with menstruation). Therefore, most manipulations on it are done either without anesthesia at all, or under local anesthesia.

Modern methods of treatment of ectopia preserve the natural elasticity of the cervix and do not leave scars:

- a mixture of special acids (Solkagin),

- laser coagulation,

- radio wave coagulation,

- cryodestruction (liquid nitrogen still causes controversy).

3. Regular inspection

Trauma of soft tissues of the birth canal is often caused by inflammatory processes in the vagina (vulvovaginitis, colpitis and other diseases). Do not miss the appointment of a gynecologist during pregnancy. Healthy tissue is more elastic and less prone to rupture. In addition, experts advise all future mothers at 36 weeks to give a smear to the flora of the vagina and, if necessary, to undergo the necessary treatment (do not be afraid, the drugs used at this time are absolutely safe for health crumbs).

4. Training

There are a number of simple exercises that remarkably strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor and are a good prevention of ruptures. In addition, they help to make the existing seams more elastic. Like Kegel's exercises, they can be performed during the entire gestation period at any time. A mandatory condition is the absence of contraindications (always consult a doctor).

Why do episiotomy

Episiotomy in some way is the latest measure of prevention of ruptures. If during the delivery the doctor sees that the skin has turned white and is about to burst, he can cut the tissue himself. The smooth incision to the side after suturing will heal much faster than the ragged edges of the ruptures towards the anus. Other indications for an episiotomy are intrauterine fetal hypoxia (when the birth process should be accelerated) and premature birth (so as not to injure the baby's head). To make the stitch heal faster, follow all the recommendations.

5. Massage

The rupture of the perineum often occurs during the eruption of the baby's head, when the tissues experience the maximum load. A good prevention in this case is massage of the perineum with oil. It can be started at any time of pregnancy, but is especially active after 28 weeks. For the women who have repeatedly regenerated, who made an episiotomy (excision of the perineum) during the first birth, this massage is the most relevant - it will restore the elasticity of the old joint and heal the cracks.

Begin to do massage first once a week, and two weeks before the birth - every day. Best after the shower in the evening, for 5-7 minutes.

6. Choosing a maternity home

The situation before childbirth has a huge impact on the whole process of the baby's appearance. The subconscious fear at the sight of hospital wards can raise pressure, increase the level of stress hormones, reduce the activity of the parent. Instead of following other people's tips, if possible, go around several maternity hospitals and choose the one where you will feel most comfortable.

7. A competent midwife

It will help you to go all the way from the first attempts to the release of crumbs to the light. The main thing that you can do is to trust her experience and listen to all the clues. The midwife should not rush you and open her neck too much with her hands. At the time of removal of the head, she will ask not to push, so as not to force the course of events, and begin, as it were, to move the soft tissues of the perineum from the head of the child. Mom should at the same time breathe frequently and superficially, but, in any case, do not push (this can lead to ruptures).

After exiting the head, the baby turns his face to one of the mother's thighs, after which the hangers appear on the light. The midwife takes out one shoulder first, then another. At this point, mom also should not push. If the events are rushed, the hangers are born not in turn, but together, which can also lead to the rupture of the vagina.

Oil for massage

It can be any natural (calendula, castor, olive, almond, wheat germ oil with a high content of vitamin E). It is necessary to consult with a specialist to avoid allergic reactions. Most often recommend ecological calendula oil with vitamin E from Weleda and natural oil for massage of the perineum and prevention of ruptures in childbirth.

8. Catching bouts

One of the most effective techniques developed by Michel Auden. It is proved that the muscles of the throat are connected with the muscles of the vagina. If you will sing the opening sounds "o" and "a" during the fights, you will open intimate muscles. Between the fights you can sing the sounds "mmm" - as if filling their belly with them and helping to push the fruit. Singing gives future mothers the opportunity to fall into a state of trance and act instinctively. According to Michel Oden, his patients later recalled the birth as a very bright and pleasant event.

9. It is very important that the midwife allows you to change the pose at your own discretion. It is noticed that more than 40% of women can avoid disruption in this way. You can sit on the edge of the bed or on the fitball, stand on all fours, lean chest on the table or pillow, lie on your left side ... Listen to what your body says.

10. Medications

In some maternity hospitals, trying to hedge against cervical ruptures, all women in labor after the withdrawal of water are injected into the cervix with a special drug. It can be prostaglandin or seaweed kelp. The second, as a natural substance, have fewer side effects. The drugs are injected as a stimulation, but some experts are sure that interference in the natural processes can harm - the birth will go faster, which too can overstrain the muscles of the uterus and lead to the formation of ruptures. Ideally, in each case, this issue should be addressed individually.

11. Right attitude

Every woman herself must perceive childbirth as a natural and pleasant moment because it makes him a mother. How will the delivery take place, in the final analysis, depends only on you. No one can better understand what is happening to your body and your child. Learn to trust yourself, because your body itself is created for the birth of children!

Past Experience

The presence of gaps during the previous birth does not at all mean that you can not avoid them even this time. The main thing is to carefully monitor your intimate health and follow all the recommendations of specialists. And of course, take our advice - they will help you reduce the risk of repeated ruptures.
