Care of the plant.

The flowering of this plant begins in the autumn. At the end of flowering, if the plant is placed in a room and kept in bright light at 7-10 degrees, the bulbs and leaves will continue to grow until the onset of spring. Watering should be limited. All these conditions are important for the formation of flower buds in bulbs. Closer to the spring, watering should be reduced, and then completely stopped and restarted as soon as the bulbs germinate.

The rest period of bulbs is in May-August. In summer bulbs should be kept in a dry place, at room temperature. The optimum temperature is 25 ° C. The new outbreak of the plant begins in early August.

Awakening of the bulb can be determined by the appearance of a shiny or bronze shade on the neck of the bulb. After that, on top of the bulbs, the old earth is removed and a new earth is filled. You should start watering the plant.

Perfect substratum for Nerine: in equal parts compost land, bone meal, coarse sand or old clay, sand and humus. 25 grams of bone meal, 25 grams of horny shavings, 7 grams of potassium sulfate and 25 grams of superphosphate are added to the bucket of the mixture. A little chalk is added to ensure that the land is not sour. Liquid complex fertilizer can be added to water, and water once every 14 days.

When diving, bulbs are planted in pots (11-13 cm) with a maximum of 2 pieces. In the pots the bulbs are planted closely, the head must be above the ground.

After planting in about 4 weeks (during this time, the bulbs take root and give healthy peduncles), buds begin to appear. If the bulb fails to take root well, the flowers sometimes do not open.

The flowers of Nerina reproduce by seeds, which are collected immediately after aging. Seeds are sown in boxes or bowls. It is advisable to use moist vermiculite.

The sown seeds are placed in a room with an air temperature of 22 degrees. The first shoots are observed after two or three weeks. Transplanted into the ground seedlings put on the lighted place, while the air temperature should be at least 15 degrees. Seedlings are not recommended for direct sun rays. Cultivated from seeds, young plants of Nerine have been cultivated for three years without a period of rest.

Feeding is carried out until the end of April with liquid fertilizer once every two weeks once. In the summer during rest, these garden flowers are not fed. During flowering, fertilizing takes place once a week.

Precautions: work with the plant is better in gloves, because all parts contain poisonous substances.

Possible difficulties.

Just planted bulbs should be watered carefully, otherwise the plant may rot.
