How to choose a good sofa

If you once unsuccessfully buy furniture - this will be a serious mistake, the consequences of which you will have to observe for many more years. Something will fall off somewhere, become detached, suddenly suddenly unfashionable, dangerous for health - and then it will be too late to change anything (it's a pity it's money!). To prevent this from happening, this article outlines the following ten "commandments", how to choose a good sofa.

1. If you are a private buyer, then do not be lazy to sit on the couch, which you liked. If possible, you can even lie down on it. If the sofa is unfolding (and you are most likely to buy such a sofa), try to move it apart and fold it several times. At the same time, do not be too cautious with the mechanism of the sofa - you will have to repeat this operation more than once a hundred times!

2. If you are a wholesale buyer who visited a furniture factory that manufactures furniture to order, then you should definitely look at how this furniture is made (well, or at least from what materials). If you do not want to devote to the essence of the production process under various pretexts, it is better to immediately choose other furniture manufacturers.

3. To choose a good sofa frame is also an important matter. It should be made of well-dried lumber. If the frame is not dried, then the furniture will dry out right in your apartment, and the sofa because of this - creak. By the way, this is the most common marriage of modern furniture. Manufacturers sell the goods as soon as possible in order to get the most profit. The time required to dry the tree is not maintained. So be careful - check with the seller.

4. The softness of the sofa is usually achieved through various materials. It can be foam rubber, spring block or polyurethane foam. They are radically different from each other, and it is necessary to know these differences.

To say unequivocally what exactly should contain a good sofa is quite difficult. It depends, first of all, on your personal feelings, whether your body is comfortable with this or that sofa stuffing. However, there are several general patterns.

For example, very few people know that foam rubber is easier to crumble and wear out than it is softer. Sofa cushions, which fill the sinteponovuyu or foam rubber, very quickly lose their shape. A sign of good quality - if the furniture uses a solid foam piece. Furniture companies, who care about their own prestige, supply all the sofa covers with lightning. So it will be easier for any buyer to know what exactly they are offering him to sit on. In addition, it's easier if you want to change the stuffing of the sofa. If the sofa model is designed correctly, then the sofa cushions are placed at a small angle. They slightly support under the knees of the seated, which prevents him from moving out. If it is a single polyurethane block, then it usually has a small edge.

5. The most important element in the sofa is a folding mechanism. Before choosing a sofa, look at how it unfolds. The mechanism is of three types: book (when the seat is half retracted and the back is reclining), a clamshell (after folding, the sleeping place is placed under the seat) and a pull-out mechanism.

From the books at the present time, many furniture factories have already refused. Such mechanisms are already almost no one produces, and those that remain are of poor quality. It remains to choose between a sliding mechanism and a clamshell.

6. If you have chosen a folding sofa, then you better know what the "sleeping" support in this folding mechanism is made of. The best is the support from the lat. It consists of a few (usually about 12) springing veneer plates. They are located across the sleeper. In second place for the furniture manufacturers for convenience and durability is a belt support, and on the third - a metal mesh.

7. Do not forget that not even the best quality sofa is designed to be used as an ordinary bed. This could more likely be a sleeping place for guests, and the owners try a good sofa to prefer beds with an orthopedic mattress.

8. If you prefer a pull-out mechanism in the couch, then do not be too lazy to check out what the boxes for laundry are made of. It's better if it's plywood, not chipboard or hardboard. Particularly vulnerable to all drawers is the roller mechanism. You can not be lucky with rollers if you buy a sofa from your hands or on the market from a private entrepreneur with the purpose of economy.

9. Upholstery plays an important role, if not the main one. Flock (a fluffy cloth with a spray) has already pretty much fed everyone up, but it has its advantages: it's easy to clean and it's not brandy. Large domestic factories never use our domestic flock, as well as fabric with a "dry" spraying. They are extremely electrostatic.

Recently, the upholstery for furniture made of shinilis, tapestry or jacquard - in general, from woven materials - has become very popular. But the problem is that jacquard, for example, can only be cleaned dry. The most convenient in all respects can be considered a fabric with Teflon coating. In this case, tea, juice or coffee will simply drain off your sofa, if it is covered with such a cloth. And there will be no trace left. However, this upholstery is distinguished by a high price.

10. And finally, when choosing a sofa it is important to take into account such a moment as the culture of furniture production. There are certain trifles on which you can immediately tell who made this sofa - a master or a scraper. At any self-respecting factory the furniture is upholstered on the back side with the same upholstery fabric as the front. And the same cloth stretches between the bottom and pillows.

You can see how neatly the sofa seams are sealed, as far as the row of staples is exactly located, with which the upholstery is padded. All these little things talk about how long you will serve this or that product.
