But for a real housewife, it's unlikely to be a particular problem to sew such a blanket. You just need to know a number of rules.
What fabric to choose for a veil?
For a coverlet, we advise you to choose a fabric that has a tight weave, for the reason that it is easiest to work with them, besides they lie well and can completely hide the entire bed. To properly sew the veil, you should remember a number of tailor tricks:
- If the bed has a headboard at the head and in the foot, then the blanket needs a full frill or several sections of frills that will hide the legs of the bed;
- In the process of cutting, the direction of the casting of the fabric and pattern should be taken into account;
- Bedspreads can be made of different lengths - you can make it long so that it covers the bed completely, "on the floor", or leave it so that the legs of the bed are still visible.
Before you start sewing bedspread, you should correctly and carefully calculate and cut the material.
Open the fabric
We cut out the main part of the fabric. We measure the width and length of the mattress, add 3-4 cm to the seam allowances.
We cut out the frills. For clarity, consider the following example. If you need a fluffy frill, then the width and length of the main part must be multiplied by two. If the length of your veil is 2 meters, and the width is one and a half, the width of the frills along the length will be 4 meters, and the width - three meters.

Before you start to sew a patchwork quilt, you need to choose the right triangle or square shreds and connect them to each other until they are equal in size to the base fabric of the product. After that, there is processing with the oblique bake or edging.

To sew a quilt, you should choose a lighter fabric and mark the fabric according to the desired length and width, leaving the distance between the lines, for example, 5x5 centimeters.
