How to wash a crystal chandelier

Crystal chandeliers have always been considered a symbol of luxury, chic and wealth. By itself, the chandelier is already beautiful, and if on the facets of its crystal pendants play multicolored highlights, then this sight and at all bewitches the eye. This feature of the crystal chandelier is manifested in those objects in the interior of the room, which themselves are a source of light, for example, on sconces and lamps, because the light in this case, as it comes from within, refracts and practically transforms the surrounding space. But over time, under the influence of dust, the crystal becomes turbid and loses its glorious brilliance. So, sooner or later, the crystal chandelier must be cleaned or washed to restore the former beauty. The question arises: how to wash a crystal chandelier?

There are a lot of methods for cleaning chandeliers from crystal, however in each case it is necessary to choose, based on the degree of pollution.

The first method of cleaning is dry cleaning, when you just need to remove the dust from the chandelier. For this method it is necessary to have a brush-daster. Brush-daster is a brush that has an anti-static effect. At the time of cleaning the crystal chandelier, it is necessary to try to make sure that the suspensions do not touch each other at this moment. Gloves must always be worn on the hands, since any touch of a person's hands, even accidental, can leave a trace on the surface of the crystal hangers, which can only be removed by wet cleaning.

If the crystal chandelier is not just covered with dust, then a damp cleaning is necessary. To wash the chandelier in this way, it is desirable to disassemble it and remove all the suspensions from it. Further, the suspensions are washed well in cold water, into which a special detergent is added, and then wiped dry with a cloth.

If you dismantle the chandelier, including remove all the suspension from it, it does not work for any reason, then you need a stepladder to clean it. It is necessary to climb on it and gently wipe the cloth with each crystal suspension on the chandelier. A cloth for washing should be soaked in a detergent solution, and when washing, try not to press strongly on the crystal.

It should be remembered that any crystal chandelier, in addition to the fact that it has crystal pendants, has many metal parts that are prone to corrosion when water gets on them. That's why you must very carefully wipe all the washed up parts of the chandelier dry.

It should be recalled that in addition to the usual detergents that are sold in the store, it is possible to use solutions that are prepared according to "national" recipes. One of such recipes, for example, provides for washing a crystal chandelier using ammonia. In order to prepare such a solution, mix ammonia (a quarter) and cold water (three quarters).

After the solution has been prepared, an oilcloth or cellophane (or any other waterproof material) should be placed on the floor under the chandelier. Then, climbing the ladder, carefully dipped each suspension of the crystal chandelier in the prepared solution. When the suspension is dry, the original shine will return to them and they will rejoice the owner with their beauty again.
