Emission of mobile phones

Disputes about its radioactivity have been maintained since the invention. Some researchers argue that 30 minutes of communication on the phone several times reduces brain activity. Others, on the contrary, noted the increase in intelligence among a group of volunteers. Still others conducted a "mobilization" of rats and found out that in the rodents the spatial memory deteriorated, as well as the ability to navigate the terrain. Nevertheless, experts believe that all this is a provocation. Indeed, cell phones entered everyday life just twenty-twenty years ago. And the increase in mortality for "unexplained reasons" does not occur. At the same time, we must not forget about the as yet unknown consequences that may appear in the next generations. The action of any source of electromagnetic radiation weakens with distance. If you move the tube 10 cm from the ear, the intensity of irradiation will decrease by a factor of 100. It is for this reason that it is better to use the hands-free system when talking. And to carry it not in a pocket of a jacket, and in a bag. Do not sit close to the TV: it emits radiation - this is the rule, we remembered from an early age. True, it is not known what parents were more afraid of: radiation or unwanted viewing of programs for adults. But the fact remains: now we also strictly restrict our children to watching TV. Scientists have proved that our unrest is not in vain: the body is really in danger from old kinescope TVs and monitors equipped with a CRT (cathode ray tube). The principle of the CRT is based on the emission of electrons and their braking on the screen, which is covered with a special composition. As a result of this, visible light of a particular wavelength is radiated (in fact, a color picture appears on the screen). In fact, this is X-ray radiation, but of low power. The screens of all CRT TVs and monitors are equipped with a special protective coating, which partially extinguishes dangerous radiation.

Radiation from TVs

An obvious solution is to replace the CRT TV with a liquid crystal or plasma panel. In order not to be exposed to harmful influence, experts recommend "to keep distance": to be located at a distance not less than 1.5 m from the TV. Try not to sit behind working CRT monitors and televisions, do not put them close to reinforced concrete walls, as this leads to the appearance of "reflected" radiation. The distance from the back of the case to the wall is not less than 50 cm.

Radiation from microwave ovens

The concept of "microwave oven" is actually not quite true, because microwave radiation uses a wavelength of about 12 centimeters (with a frequency of 2.45 GHz). Waves penetrate the interior of the product to some depth and warm up the molecules of fat and water. Then the heated molecules transfer heat further into the interior of the dish. A prolonged study of the effect of radiation from microwave ovens on humans has not confirmed an increased risk of cancer. A group of biologists from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas spent a year and a half studying the effect of microwave radiation on animals. One hundred mice with cancer tumors were placed in closed waveguides, where they were subjected to continuous irradiation for i8 months. A hundred control rodents in the same waveguides were illuminated by ordinary light. The analysis of the results did not reveal any significant differences in the development of tumors and the longevity of animals. Stop fearing and panicking, but enjoy the opportunity to quickly warm or unfreeze the dish. With a working microwave oven, at a distance of 5 centimeters from it, the radiation is slightly lower than that of a GSM mobile phone at the same distance. But at the same time we press the mobile phone to the head, and we will not press hard to the microwave oven. After the Chernobyl accident many years have passed, but the population has a fear of radiation. It is quite natural, because some radionuclides can decay for dozens and hundreds of years, polluting the soil and water. Being exposed to radiation, living organisms, of course, are dangerous. Our fears are "fueled" by the disappointing data of the SES raids on the markets of large cities: thousands of kilograms of "contaminated" products are annually seized.

If a nuclear particle or a quantum passing through a biological tissue does not cause excitation but ionization of atoms, then the corresponding living cell proves to be defective. This subsequently leads to the formation of a large number of free radicals, which in turn destroy the chains of macromolecules (proteins and nucleic acids), which leads to mass cell death, the emergence of cancer and mutation of normal cells. Chances to encounter in the city with a powerful source of radiation are small. The stories about how in the walls of new buildings were found pieces of radioactive materials, fortunately, remained in the early 90's. And now the radiation background of new buildings is checked by special commissions before the state acceptance of the facility. But the echoes of the Chernobyl accident are still audible: annually more than 100 kg of radioactive berries and mushrooms are seized from the sale. Therefore, it is necessary to eat food, which helps to remove radionuclides from the body. First of all, these are products containing selenium, which is a radioprotective substance, and also prevents the formation of tumors. It is found in sea salt, beef liver, eggs, seafood. Of the products of vegetable origin, selenium is rich in wheat bran, sprouted wheat grains, as well as corn and garlic. X-rays are energy waves that have the ability to permeate through or penetrate into virtually any living organism. Fluoroscopic equipment, a mammogram or a computer tomograph - these devices also work on x-ray radiation.
