Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Lubricate the baking dish with oil. In a bowl, whip butter, milk and eggs, set aside. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt, add the milk mixture and mix until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Do not whisk! Add the figs and lemon zest. Pour the dough into the prepared form. Bake until golden brown, from 35 to 40 minutes. Allow to cool for about 15 minutes. When serving, cut into slices. Store in polyethylene at room temperature for up to 1 day.
