Lipstick: harm and benefit

When talking about lipstick, many believe that it is more useful than harmful - it was considered harmful earlier, when chemistry was not as developed as it is now. At that time, everything that was possible was added to the lipstick - for brightness, color and firmness. To date, everything is different, lipstick lipstick, harm and its benefits are different depending on the quality and firm.

The Benefits of Lipstick

Manufacturers of lipstick now add to the production of protective, moisturizing, nutritional, medicinal components that protect lips from sun, wind, frost, dry air and poor ecology. Lipsticks that moisturize, not only color the lips, but also make them softer, prevent peeling. They contain oils: avocado, castor, cocoa, sunflower or coconut oil, chamomile extract.

Nutritional lipsticks can easily protect lips from cracks in winter and autumn, because they contain a large amount of wax.

Persistent and super-resistant lipsticks leave no residue and are able to hold on the lips for up to 24 hours. They are easy to apply and have a nice texture. They also contain coloring pigments along with ethers. When the ethers evaporate, a colored film remains on the lips. But it is not recommended to apply persistent lipsticks daily, because they make the lips dry.

Hygienic lipsticks perfectly prevent dryness and the appearance of cracks. Very good for the care of the lips in winter. They have vitamins, nutritious, anti-inflammatory, moisturizing substances. But such lipsticks do not shade the lips, so their use is not decorative.

Studies of lipsticks, including world producers, showed that there is still a negative effect on lipstick, and it's worth knowing about it.

Harm to lipstick

About cheap lipsticks should not be said at all, but it is worth recalling that in this case everything is not limited to problems of cosmetics: cheap lipstick can be poisonous, contain salts of heavy metals and chemical dyes.

Lipsticks that sparkle and shine can have in the composition of matter that stand out in the sunlight, so-called atomic oxygen - this is a terrible oxidizer, it dramatically speeds up the aging of the skin. Therefore, before using lipstick, you should even take a little interest in its composition, otherwise you can feel burning, itching, skin inflammation instead of pleasure.

For example, carmine dye, which is used in the food industry, often leads to severe allergic reactions, and lanolin, used in the moistening of the skin, disrupts the work of the stomach and intestines.

Vaseline has long been used to soften the skin, it is considered a safe remedy, but it is also capable of causing allergies, and during regular use it over-dry the skin of the lips. In the end, if there is a feeling of dryness, the woman unconsciously tinted her lips more often.
The listed ingredients are also capable of causing nausea and headache if they are constantly, even in minimal amounts, passed into the gastrointestinal tract.

Dangerous are also mineral oils - paraffin, microcrystalline wax. These substances are created on the basis of oil products, they are able to accumulate in the body, affect the kidneys, lymph nodes, liver - and there are many women who simply do not leave the house without painting their lips with their favorite lipstick.

Most well-known manufacturers add solid paraffins to the lipstick, so that it becomes dense and does not spread out. Particles of paraffins are not visible to the ordinary eye, but with lipstick they go to the teeth, stick to them sticking, becoming a refuge for millions of bacteria. As a result, more microcracks appear on the teeth and caries develop rapidly.

As mentioned above, in order to avoid negative consequences, during the purchase of lipstick you need to carefully check the composition. Do not take cheap lipstick, which includes lanolin, petrolatum and carmine. These components are the most dangerous and harmful for human health.
