Models of behavior in business relations

The behavior of any person depends not only on the set of its qualities, but also on the specifics of the environment in which its business activity is realized.

A person often has two masks, which he periodically changes. The first is his "I", what he really is. This is his true essence, with all the flaws and virtues. But apart from this mask, there is at least one more - the one that a man wears when he appears in public, the so-called "I-image". This mask reflects the way a person wants to see himself, and the way he wants to show others to like it better, to match the environment. One of the most important steps to the formation of this image is the choice of image.

Image is an image of a business person, in which valuable characteristics and features that affect others are highlighted. The image is formed in the process of a person's personal contacts, as well as on the basis of the opinions that others express about him.

It has long been noted that people more support the person to whom they feel liking and vice versa.

The acquisition of the image should not become an end in itself, but mastering it constitutes an essential part of the personality characteristic. From the image depends the desire of people to cooperate with a person or firm.

To create a good image, everything is important: the manner of speech, the style of clothing, the design of the office. Most often, the image is the result of skilful orientation in a specific situation, choosing the right patterns of behavior.

The behavior model is a complex of signs (speech, behavior, gestures) that are aimed at creating a certain image. The choice of the behavior model is the reproduction of the behaviors that make the personality attractive.

The model of behavior in business relations is extremely important. The main criteria for the correct choice of the model are:

  1. Moral impeccability
  2. Self-assessment of the possibility to use a certain model of behavior.
  3. Correct evaluation of a specific situation.

To maintain a good image, you must follow business etiquette. In business relations there is an original code of laws, in which the behavior of people during the performance of official duties is prescribed. This set of laws includes five basic rules.

  1. Be punctual. Nobody likes being late. In addition, delays indicate your incompetence, insecurity.
  2. Do not say too much. You must keep the secrets of your company. The same applies to personal secrets of employees.
  3. Think not only about yourself, but about others. It is impossible to conduct business without taking into account the wishes of partners. Often, the causes of failure are manifestations of selfishness, the desire to harm the competitors. Do not demean opponents, remember that you yourself can be in the place of the offended.
  4. Dress stylish. Your clothes should show your taste, but you should not be very different from your level of staff.
  5. Speak and write competently. Much of the business relationship depends on the ability to speak. In order to succeed in business, you should learn the art of rhetoric. Diction and pronunciation are also important. Try not to use slang words and offensive language in your speech. Learn to hear others and know how to show that you are interested in the topic of conversation.

Compliance with these simple rules can greatly affect your progress on the career ladder. We learned the rules of behavior on the street, in transport, in a restaurant, but for some reason, many overlook the simplest rules of conduct at work and do not adhere to generally accepted norms. Strangely enough, these norms are an important detail in the sphere of business relations. It is known that many foreign companies pay large sums of money for training their employees' behavior patterns in business relations.

In large organizations there are no unbalanced, uninhibited people. In business relations self-esteem, efficiency, concentration, ability to control emotions are very appreciated. They communicate here in a reserved form, briefly and informatively.

In general, by behavior, by the way they maintain relationships, one can judge their intellectual and professional abilities, as well as the status of the institution in which they work. In our time, when companies are fighting for every client, the staff who can communicate, observe the rules of behavior and the norms of decency are very important. In order not to get confused in all rules of the business world, it is necessary to create your own model of behavior and establish your own rules, or successfully adapt to existing ones. One way or another, but without knowing the basic rules of behavior and without your own behavior model, it is unlikely that your journey in the business world will last for long.
