Mojito - the summer cocktail Summer, heat, strong drinks and do not want to think, but a delicious refreshing cocktail will be to the liking of many. Today we decided to make one of the most fashionable and popular drinks - Mojito. Rum-based cocktails originate in the Caribbean, namely Cuba. The heat forced to experiment with this strong drink, so that both a refreshing and an alcoholic drink turned out at the same time. As a result of numerous experiments, the composition of rum, mint, sugar and various fillers was invented. The origin of the word "Mojito" has a Spanish origin, but this is how the cocktail with such ingredients throughout the world began to be called. He began his journey through the continents of Mojito in America, more precisely in the state of Florida, where during the dry law he was delivered by sea, bypassing the American border. One of the passionate admirers of Mojito was the popular writer Ernest Hemingway, who moved from Cuba to Florida at the beginning of the XIX century. The amount of alcohol in Mojito can be regulated, it can be either a strong tonic drink or a low-alcohol drink. There is also a non-alcoholic Mojito, but we will talk about it next time.
Ingredients:- Rum gold 40 ml
- Sprite 80 ml
- Peppermint fresh 5 g
- Brown sugar 2 tsp.
- Lemon 0.5 pcs.
- Lime 0.5 pcs.
- Ice crushed 300 g
- Step 1 To prepare the mojito we need mint, cane sugar, lemon and lime, golden rum, sprite and crushed ice.
- Step 2 In a highball glass put 10-15 mint leaves and crush them with a madler so that the mint leaves the juice, but the leaves remain intact.
- Step 3 Top with mint, sprinkle 1-2 teaspoons of cane sugar.
- Step 4 Next, you need to squeeze half a lemon into the glass and remove the bones, if any.
- Step 5 Cut off the lime 2-4 lobules, and cut along.
- Step 6 Put the lime pieces into the highball.
- Step 7 Now you need to melt the ice. If you do not have a ice crusher, you can wrap ice cubes in a towel and knock on the resulting roll.
- Step 8 Up to the top, we fill the glass with crushed ice.
- Step 9 Gasime ice 40 grams of golden rum.
- Step 10 And 80 grams of sprite.
- Step 11 Now you need to mix all the contents of highball with a bar spoon so that mint and slices of lime are evenly distributed in the thick of the ice.
- Step 12 Pour the glass over to the top so that a glass of ice will form on top of the glass. Everything - your mojito is ready, it remains only to decorate it with a slice or a ring of lime (lemon) and a sprig of mint.
