Premature birth, symptoms

If at the initial stage to recognize the approach of premature birth, they can be stopped, and the pregnancy will last until the desired time. Below is considered such an important topic as premature birth: symptoms and signs, which should immediately alert.

Preterm birth is considered to be between 28 and 37 weeks of pregnancy. In this case, the cervix is opened before the prescribed time. In medical practice, there are various symptoms of premature birth.

If a woman recognizes premature births at the initial stage (usually they proceed painlessly), the doctors will be able to stop them in time and keep the pregnancy. The future mother will be sent to the hospital, where she will be ensured compliance with bed rest, dosed fluid intake and the necessary medications that help to calm down and relax the cervix. The following are the most common and frequently occurring premature symptoms of childbirth:

- cramping contractions or peristalsis of the uterus. This feeling is difficult to confuse with anything;

- pain in the lower abdomen, which has a cramping character. It resembles periodic pain before or during menstruation, only stronger;

- increased pressure on the bladder and vagina;

- Strong urge to urinate;

- flowing liquid;

bleeding from the vagina of any character;

- A sharp decrease in the mobility of the fetus.

If a woman has a period of about 8 months (more than 30 weeks), then there is an extremely small threat to the life of the child. Especially if the pregnancy itself was without pathologies. Most likely, after giving birth at this time, the child will spend some time in a special department called "resuscitation of newborns." If the child is born before the 30th week, the threat to his life will be somewhat greater. In intensive care, he will spend about a month or even a few months, until his condition becomes stable, and the weight does not reach the norm.

In case of symptoms of premature birth, a woman should immediately call a doctor or midwife and report her condition without missing a single detail. The doctor, given the severity of the situation, will be able to advise a woman or come to the hospital for examination, or simply lie down and calm down. In fact, in the overwhelming majority of cases, such signs are false. The uterus does shrink, but this is a variant of the norm. So the body is preparing for the forthcoming birth. Usually such "fights" gradually abate and pass in a few minutes.

In the case of hospitalization, the woman will be compulsorily prepared for labor: she will be given a robe, she will be connected to the monitoring system of the status of the mother in childbirth, the obstetrician-gynecologist will visually check the degree of expansion of the cervix. If premature birth is still possible to stop, then doctors will resort to the help of medications that help reduce the hypertension of the uterus. After this, the contractions must cease. In rare cases, if there is a real threat of termination of pregnancy, the woman will be placed in the hospital until the end of pregnancy - for prenatal storage.

If the birth, the symptoms of which have manifested itself in full force, can not be stopped, then the child will be given a shot of steroids that accelerate the growth of the child's lungs. This will subsequently increase the baby's chances of survival after leaving the mother's womb. A child born prematurely does not usually scream. He immediately placed in a special chamber, in which conditions are created, as close as possible to intrauterine. Depending on the period on which the child is born, as well as on his weight, he will spend in such a chamber the required period of time.
