Ingredients. Red lentils - on the left in the photo. If you want to make a real Turkish soup made of lentils, the essential ingredient is a hot pepper, as in the photo. Lentils soaked in cold water for several hours. We cook beef broth: bring to a boil one and a half liters of water, throw in it bones. Taking off the outstanding foam, cook the broth over low heat for 1 hour. Spices yet do not add - just a broth. Take a saucepan in which we will prepare the soup. We melt the butter in it, throw in it finely chopped onions and fry until red. Add tomato paste and a cup of hot broth to the pan. Stir and cook 3-4 minutes. Solim. Add the soaked lentils (without liquid, naturally) to the pan. After the lentils, add the croup to the pan. Fill the whole thing with broth and cook on medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly. If you do not stir, the croup will settle on the bottom and burn. Add spices - dried mint and thyme. If desired, add a little more salt. Cook the soup on low heat for about 35 minutes - until the lentils and cereals are ready. Ready soup let us brew for a few minutes under the lid, then pour it on a plate, sprinkle with hot pepper - and serve. Bon Appetit! :)
