Review of the film "Sex and the City"

Title : Sex and the City
Country : USA
Year : 2008
Director : Michael Patrick King
Genre : Comedy / Romance

In the distant 1998, the first series of "Sex and the City", a series about four women of Balzac's age in search of their own happiness, appeared on the screens of America. The series was so fond of women that the first season was followed by five more, until the performers of the main roles of Sarah Parker and Cynthia Nixon did not become pregnant. In 2004, the last series were released. In its history, the most popular soap opera was awarded six Emmy Awards and eight Golden Globes. And now, four years later, HBO broadcasts a full-length version of "Sex ...".

From the original source of the book, Candy Bushnell left nothing at all - a column in the magazine and high-heeled shoes from Manolo Blanic. The plot of the popular version of the popular TV series is unconstrained: the same suffering, talk of "forbidden", the same vicissitudes that persecuted viewers all six seasons. Traditionally the film begins with the preparation of the wedding (fashion theme of the season) of the main character Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker).

Carrie is a talented journalist, leads a column in the New York Post, constantly in search of shooting an apartment and a boyfriend. But then her old lover and friend Mr. Big, who offers her hand and heart, is turning to her. Carrie immediately shares pleasant news with close friends. At the same time, Charlotte is pregnant, Miranda was changed by her husband, and Samantha, as always, has a mess. In addition, Mr. Big added a hassle to Carrie's friends, dejected before the wedding. With all these friends will have to cope (not the first time), and we all are waiting for a certain happy ending. And it is worth noting - each of her friends understands happiness in their own way.

The tape was too long - 2 hours and 20 minutes of timing - this is too much for melodrama about New York women. The events and thoughts of the big city's characters resemble global problems solved by simple shopping.

In the film, too much glamor - a collection of clothes, parties, photosessions in the magazine "Vogue". In the series, the main characters with humor discussed intimate and frank matters, then the dialogues of the characters are somewhat strained, and the smiles of the heroines are a bit tired. Although, for loyal fans and fans, everything will be a novelty and viewing nothing but pleasure will not cause. Speaking frankly, the show was much more interesting and piquant, abounding with jokes. The movie about unlucky friends reminds only a distant echo of that success.

It is noteworthy that the shooting of the film for a long time slowed, because Kim Cattrall required a fee equal to the fee of Sarah Jessica Parker, the main actress of the series.

"Sex and the City" is worth watching those who have ever seen the eponymous series. Growing up Parker, Catrol, Davis and Nixon will especially like girls waiting for the movie for many years.
