Enchanted wizard, ruthless Chinese emperor-dragon must spend eternity in oblivion. His 10,000 warriors turned into terracotta warriors. However, when the adventurer Alex O'Connell accidentally awakens the ruler from eternal hibernation, he is forced to seek help from the only people who know how to cope with the resurrected dead: from their parents. The monarch returns to life, and our heroes understand that his power has only increased over this thousand years. The mummy is ready to raise the whole of Asia in the struggle for world domination ... if O'Connell does not stop it.
The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is an indication of the famous tomb of the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty near Mount Lishan, near which were found 8099 terracotta statues of Chinese soldiers. It dates from 210 BC. e., was opened in 1974.
I go to the first, ten-hour session. In the lobby of the cinema there is a kindergarten and junior schoolchildren. They all hold a pop-corn (or a bucket?) Popcorn, a liter bottle of cola, everyone has eyes in their eyes - hope and anticipation, all loudly interrupting each other. Total: from adults in the room I and the controller.
By the way, the movie seems to be "for children under 14"?

For a considerable number of years the insidious remains of Imhotep did not let O'Connell couple live peacefully (in the world of Wise and Fraser). Lovely young people famously dealt with the mean Egyptian dead, along the way creating a family and releasing quite decent jokes not about the ass. The army of admirers expanded and expanded. Films of 1999 - "The Mummy" and 2001 - "The Mummy Returns" became not just classics of a specific genre (horrors-action-adventure-lover-story), they brought in their beaks to their creators more than 800 (!!!) million dollars. All waited for the continuation of the banquet and hoped for the best.

Strictly speaking, hopes were not destined to come true.
You understand what to revive (and then kill) the third time Imhotep is simply indecent. Apparently, it is from these considerations that the director of the previous two parts Stephen Sommers abandoned the third in favor of a certain Rob Cohen ("Fast and the Furious", "Three X's"). "How long can I do?" - said the famous Hollywood specialist in auto racing and pitching, and already a year and a half after the start of work (and less than a year after the filming began) gave us the third "Mummy".
Action decided to move to Asia (in space) and for fifteen years (in time). For the fans, the creators prepared several surprises: Jet Li as the main dead bad guy, painted friendly yeti, terracotta (this is not a color, this is the way of burning clay) soldiers and a new actress in the role of Evelyn. In addition, apparently, it was supposed that everyone should be powerfully surprised by the son of O'Connell - Alex, who was mature and fluent in a certain Chinese dialect, curly blonde Alex.
And it turned out srednenko, worse than the first "Mummy", and the second. The narrative is flat, the plot lacks dynamics, special effects suppressed everything and everything, the characters are undisclosed, the battles are failed. We, the spectators, spoiled by the epic of recent years, are no longer striving for clay soldiers, galloping shaggy monsters and rushing horses! That was it, it was! If there is no food for brains, then, give a spectacle! And in Rob Cohen shows end at the first half hour, along with a stock of Chinese pyrotechnics.
But for one moment the director wants to say "thank you": in the film there are no flying Chinese! Yes, the floors are fluttering, yes, swords, daggers, wild cries and receivers of various martial arts. But no violation of physical laws in the movement of human bodies through the air! In fact, it's good, because it's boring.
The best moment in the film: Ivi O'Connell, directly and honestly looking into the eyes of the audience, says: "Now I'm a completely different person." Really. Where are you, gentle and charming Rachel Wise, to whom did you leave the third "Mummy"?

The creators say that the continuation of the fourth "Mummy" will not be. Blatantly lie. It will be, it will be. For as long as there is a last kopeck, which a third-grade student can take to the cash register of the cinema, the mummies will still come to life.
