Below is a master class on sewing a dress for the Snow Maiden. Just note that this option is different from the traditional sheepskin coats and sarafans, in which it is customary to dress up Snegurka in fairy tales. This dress is more like an outfit of the Disney princess, but if you supplement it with the appropriate accessories, it will become an excellent basis for the Snow Maiden costume.
Necessary materials:
- White T-shirt
- blue fabric for the bodice - 1 m.
- blue shiny tulle (tulle) - 1,5-2 m.
- blue satin or silk fabric (for a skirt) - 1 m.
- elastic
- decor in the form of snowflakes, crystals, beads
- roulette
- adhesive for fabric
- pins, rotary cutter, scissors, thread, sewing machine
Main stages:
- Place the blue fabric for the bodice on the front of the t-shirt at the chest level. Cut 2 slices about 6 cm wider, but the same length as the undershirt. Place both cuts on top of each other, secure with pins and sew the sides. Now move about 1 cm from the edge of the upper part and bend the fabric inside all the diameter. Fix with pins and stitch. Cut a piece of gum of the same circumference as your baby's chest.
- Now, using a regular pin through a small hole, you need to drag the elastic around the entire circumference of the bodice and sew it to the fabric.
- Measure out a piece of shiny tulle or tulle, equal to the length from the blades to the floor. Its width should be a little wider and widen downwards, like a cloak. Fasten the tulle from behind the T-shirt and stitch it to the base.
- Let's proceed to the design of the skirt. To do this, we measure off the blue dense fabric piece, equal in width to the two T-shirts. The length of the skirt can range from a short to maxi skirt in the floor. Unscrew approximately 2 cm of fabric around the edges and stitch.
- Cut a piece of gum equal to the waistline of the girl and sew its ends. Fasten the elastic band to the top edge of the skirt and stitch it.
- Now you need to connect the bodice with the skirt. To do this, turn both products inside out and stitch them.
- If the shirt is too long, then the excess material can be carefully cut off. It remains to decorate the Snow Maiden's dress with the appropriate decor: snowflakes, sparkles, beads.
New Year's crown of the Snow Maiden with their own hands - step by step instruction
Supplement the traditional costume of the Snow Maiden with a suitable headgear. We suggest replacing the traditional kokoshnik with a more modern version - a crown or a tiara. Moreover, making a crown is quite simple from improvised materials at home.
Necessary materials:
- felt white and blue
- clerical glue
- hot glue
- sequins
- cardboard
- metal bezel
- pins, thread, needle
Main stages:
- First, we cut out a cardboard template of the future crown.
- Using a pin, we fix the template on a piece of white felt and cut out the workpiece.
- Fold approximately 2 cm of felt from the bottom of the tiara and secure with pins along the entire length.
- Straighten the fold along the entire length of the sewing machine or manually.
- From blue felt we will cut several diamonds and glue them to a white base.
- Add some spangles to the clerical glue and shake it. With such glue we will apply the drawing you liked to the diamonds.
- It remains to do metal rim through the workpiece and our Snow Maiden crown is ready!
