Some live by the past, some by the future and only a few by the present!

As a child, you want to grow up quickly, but, growing up, you look back more often with nostalgia. But, plunging into memories of a sweet past or a dream about the future, it is very difficult to live the present.

In this state, life is complex in itself, because a huge amount of spiritual energy flows into the "black hole" of time. And regardless of where your view is directed, to the past or the future, you are not "here and now". There is a significant difference between these two states: a person who is nostalgic for the past subconsciously tries to rewrite his life "up to scratch", he can often be found behind conversations aloud - he loses in his mind scenes from the past, imagining how he could act. This is the so-called "life in a conditional mood": "if ..., then ...". Unlike those who live in the future, "a man from the past" is easier to get out of this state and start living "today": nostalgia for the past is more visible to others, and people often catch themselves on what looks back. The habit of living tomorrow in the day is less noticeable. When you constantly "breakfast" yourself and others, then you almost live - it's "almost" on the verge of "today" and "tomorrow", which is about to come. But this does not happen! "There is nothing more permanent than temporary," says the Book of Changes, I Ching. Some live by the past, some by the future, and only a few by the present - the subject matter of the article.

The morning is wiser than the evening...

A man becomes so used to live the promises of the day of tomorrow that, having received the desired happiness, he devises a new reason to postpone life "for later". This is a "conditional mood": "I will certainly learn English when ..." For years, waiting for the apartment to be completed, a person dreams about how life will change with the move. Here comes the long-awaited moment, it's time to enter the house. And still there is a "but", which postpones housewarming. Again, years pass before a person ventures to a new life in the house.

Following the dream

However, it would be unfair to blindly criticize people who are dreaming of the future. In the position of a man, postponing life "for later", there is at least one "plus": these people have an emotional attitude to the positive, and this is their strength. The main thing is to realize this and turn your weaknesses to your advantage. Well, when a person has a dream, let it be! But this is not a reason for inaction in the current moment. For a global task to be solved, it is necessary to set small goals and achieve them as they arrive. To get rid of inner discontent and the habit of living tomorrow, we recommend that you take the next four steps to fulfill your cherished goal.

Dream with the mind!

Realize that dreams of the future are not so bad. And certainly it's much better to dream and plan than, for example, getting a salary, to spend it on the first day for the pleasures of the current moment, simply because you want so. You have advantages over such a position - learn to savor your dream.

Enjoy life!

To learn how to enjoy the present, start with physical sensations. Did you come home after work? Feel how nice it is for the legs to be without shoes on a soft carpet or cool floor. Do not think about anything - just feel the skin with bliss and pleasure. Stretched under the lamps of the solarium? Feel the warmth that permeates every cell, do not think about the beauty of the future tan, focus on physical sensations. Eat ice cream? Savor each piece ... And try to arrange for yourself during the day as many such islands of simple, sensual pleasures.

Give yourself an installation!

When you master the art of relaxing in moments of bliss, go to the next stage - from simple physiology to psychological attitudes. Try to mark the moments when internal dissatisfaction with the present moment increases in you and a desire appears again to present a "conditional account" of life: "If this condition is fulfilled, then I will be happy." Catch yourself on these thoughts and then ask yourself the question: "What good do I have in this situation?" The cold weather has come - it's good, because it's not hot; the car broke down and you were late for the meeting - but you got a charge of cheerfulness from walking on foot ... It's not easy. At first, the internal "critic" will try to provoke your discontent. Do not notice it!

Listen to yourself!

Working with yourself is a painstaking business, but after a week of attentive treatment you will notice that you have become more relaxed in life. What about the global goals? You will be surprised to find that you began to spend much less spiritual energy to achieve them, and all that you wished would develop by itself. A dream will come true when you do not expect it! The main thing is not to stop striving forward and not to sit idly by.
