Sore throat: treatment

When the pain is not felt in the area of the tonsils, but deeper (right in the throat), then we can talk about a disease called tracheitis (trachea injury). Tracheitis is accompanied by hoarseness, hoarseness and severe pain when trying to clear the throat. Tracheitis may be caused by viruses, bacteria, allergies or inhaled harmful chemicals. Another disease, accompanied by pain in the trachea, is laryngotracheitis.

With it there is swelling of the ligaments, and hoarseness is much more pronounced here. In addition to her, there is a shortness of breath, there is a "barking" cough and almost always the body temperature rises. For some (especially small children), laryngotracheitis is deadly, because it can lead to suffocation. The disease is treated not only with medicines that remove the edema, and with cough suppressants, but also with antibiotics, therefore, as with angina, strict medical supervision is necessary here.
If sore throat, pharyngitis, SARS and other diseases listed above can not be treated properly, then one can get another, more unpleasant, disease - tonsillitis. With it, the sore throat is not very strong, as if "greased", the throat itself is not so bright red, and the temperature rarely rises above normal. You can learn tonsillitis by markedly enlarged glands and frequent catarrhal diseases (such patients seem to have an exacerbated angina periodically). Left unattended, this disease damages the tonsils, and they have to be removed. With the tonsils, the body loses one of the protective barriers that do not let germs in.
"Angina!" - we often make such a diagnosis when we feel pain in our throat. But in fact many do not even mean that such a symptom is not unique to her alone. After all, often angina can be painless. Or maybe a consequence of complications after the flu. Since angina is often accompanied by viral diseases, and it is extremely difficult to treat it. The most important thing is a bed rest and a plentiful drink. By adhering to such methods it is possible to alleviate the course of the disease throughout the body.
To begin with, it must be said that any sore throat should arouse suspicion. The fact is that it is typical for most infectious diseases, including no one with a throat unrelated. This may be the first manifestations of hepatitis, and even the onset of meningitis (there is also strong weakness, drowsiness and sharp pain in the eyes). Therefore, if there are any other "bright" ailments on the background of a sore throat, you should immediately consult a doctor.
Angina itself is distinguished by a strong, difficult swallowing pain in the throat, very high fever, headache and lightheadedness. Often a white coating appears on the glands, which is easily removed by rinsing or with a cotton swab. True angina is rarely cured without the use of antibiotics, since its occurrence is associated with a bacterial infection. Very similar to angina pharyngitis. It differs from it in that the pain in the throat is not so sharp and rather resemble a perspiration, and the body temperature rarely rises above 38. Pharyngitis is usually treated without the use of antibiotics with the help of frequent rinses, warm compresses on the throat and vitamins.
SARS in addition to sore throat is recognizable by a sudden, "one-stage" onset, a severe cold (which does not happen with angina and pharyngitis), sneezing, lachrymation and high fever. In these cases, antiviral and anti-inflammatory drugs are appropriate, except for which rinses and "local" antiseptic drugs are needed to relieve inflammation in the throat.
