In a large saucepan bring the salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to the instructions. In a large frying pan fry the medium bacon until crisp, from 5 to 7 minutes. Put the bacon on a paper towel and allow to drain off the fat. Add shallots in a frying pan, season with salt and pepper. Fry over medium heat, stirring until the onion is softened, from 1 to 2 minutes. Add the peas, season with salt and pepper. Fry over low heat for about 2 minutes. Pour pasta with cooked sauce, add bacon and serve immediately.
